Incredible service and workmanship

At first I was sceptical because of the sheer price difference between Nissan and these guys but Ross was extremely helpful and shared his knowledge with me and made it an extremely easy decision I had my Nissan Qashqai in with these guys and they had a complete gearbox replacement done within 2 weeks which was was over two times quicker than the Nissan told me it would be Nissan wanted to charge me 150 pounds just for a diagnostic as my warranty ran out even if I decided to get the work done After these guys completed their diagnostics free of charge then told me I would need a replacement I checked with the Nissan garage how much it would cost me and I couldn t believe the cheek of them Will not be using Nissan again and I hope I won t be seeing you guys again either but if I have any other gearbox problems rest assured you will be the first people I am calling Thank you so much guys Richard K

As good as it gets

Amazing service really cannot fault them in any way I was ushered through the process in a very streamlined manner Michael was amazing at addressing all my questions and helping me feel comfortable every step of the way Honestly it was such a pleasure to work with these guys if I need this sort of thing done again god forbid This is where I will be coming

Great team to deal with

Big up to these guys My wife s Quasqui started to go horribly wrong recently and we found out it was probably a problem with the gearbox which seems common among certain Nissan cars Phoned the lads at Gearbox Gurus first speaking to Josh and then Ross straight away I felt safe in their hands and was given good advice in a polite and friendly manner Being someone who knows absolutely nothing about cars I can sometimes feel a bit stupid and feel like I m being talked down too but I never felt like that with them The car was picked up as soon as they could taken to their depot and they had a look at it for me Turned out the gearbox needed a complete rebuild again not uncommon it seems and the work was done within a few days and returned back to us yesterday Pleased to say it so far has been running smoothly and seems the problem has been solved Can t thank Josh and Ross enough for their kind and courteous manner and they really are a credit to the company In the nicest possible way I hope I don t need to call them again but if I do I know I ll be in safe hands Would definitely recommend

I have a Honda Civic Mk8 with the iShift transmission which few repairers will tackle The problem was that although the car was driveable the 1st reverse clutch snatched badly when taking up the drive This caused the car to lurch in an alarming fashion I contacted Gearbox Gurus spoke to Ross MacMillan who replied to my inquiry promptly gave a ball park cost of repair They arranged to collect my car from my home using a very helpful recovery firm whose driver was at pains to avoid inconvenience to other road users Gearbox Gurus completed the work within three days quickly returned it The car now drives as good as when I bought it new in 2007 Although the work was not cheap it was worth it as the car has only 32000 miles on the clock I am happy to use my name as a recommendation for Gearbox Gurus Peter Gain

Pleased with the service

The gearbox on my VW had issues and the car gave me the amber lights with the reverse gear not working Gearbox gurus picked up my car from home using a recovery service big differentiator fixed the issue they diagnosed that it wasn t just the mechatronic unit which was fried and needed replacement but also the clutch and delivered the car back They also did an inside and outside valet of the car Josh the customer service guy and Ross the technical guy were both very courteous and helpful They were also always accessible on phone and what s app Because our car had broken down we also had a PCN We disputed it and the council contacted gearbox gurus Ross kindly let them know that the car could not be driven resulting the PCN being reversed The bill was quite hefty as the mechatronic unit and clutch both needed replacement However it s been over a month since I got the car back and it drives well

First Class

After having the car for three days the gearbox decided to pack up I had the vehicle taken to a local BMW main dealer at Tring for diagnosis who informed me the gearbox needed replacing and would cost 10 000 plus labour I then made enquiries at a number of repairers Some replied by email requesting further information Ross at Gearbox Gurus telephoned me almost immediately after sending the enquiry He told me they would collect the car from the main dealer and sort out the problem He was very informative and warned me that due to availability of parts he could not give me a definitive time it would take to repair They had the car a week kept me informed of what was going on Delivered the car back to my home on a tow truck spotless The car is now running perfectly The repairs cost less than half of that quoted by the main dealer I cannot praise the service I received enough They took full control of collecting the car keeping me informed and carried out a first class job of repair Informing me of the general condition of my gearbox and exactly what had caused the problem I would recommend anyone suffering with a gearbox problem to use this company There service and workmanship are first class and an example of why you should never take a vehicle with a serious problem to a main dealership The difference between the main dealership and Gearbox Gurus is the main dealership employ spare part fitters whereas Gearbox Gurus are a company of skilled mechanical engineers Thank you for doing a first class job

I had a brilliant experience with gearbox gurus when my Audi A6 grinded to a halt after making a horrible noise I was lucky enough to actually see a technician Ross who was on his way home and immediately jumped out of his car and asked if I needed help After helping me push my car to a me to a safe location he plugged my car into a machine and was able to tell me that it was a transmission issue and he emailed me a copy of the report for my records free of charge He then told me to call the office first thing although he had already started making arrangements to organise collection the following day When I then called the office in the morning I was greeted by Josh who went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable in an undeniably uncomfortable situation They picked up my vehicle from where it was broken down within 24 hours After bringing it to their workshop Ross promptly called me and said they must strip the gearbox in order to find exactly was has happened as it was an internal problem After giving the green light they stripped the gearbox down and sent me pictures of inside and the damage was horrendous It turns out I had a leak that I was driving on which damaged the gearbox considerably They then fully reconditioned the gearbox and I had my car delivered back to me on my drive within 3 days These guys are engineers not mechanics and they just simply do not get enough credit Thank you so much guys I would strongly recommend to anyone who needs the service

Gearbox Gurus is the best out there quite simply I am a trader and have sold cars for coming on 7 years now I have worked with transmissions specialists from all over London One thing that stands out is that the standard of service is of a different calibre to any other transmission specialist I have ever used I feel like I have a much more genuine relationship with the people who work there Now I always deal with Ross directly but even when I first started using them not a single member of staff could be faulted They also have an incredible knowledge of motor vehicles in general and can actually fix anything on cars apart from body work Another thing that seperates them from the crowd is that they do literally all automatic transmissions including Ford Powershift which is why I came in the first place Overall I cannot stress enough the craftsmanship these guys possess I wouldn t dream of going anywhere else
