GigaComm dropped a flyer in our mailbox
GigaComm dropped a flyer in our mailbox one day claiming to be able to offer gigabit speeds in our apartment complex near Sydney CBD As a strata committee member I understood they did this through the use of a 5G receiver on the roof with new fibre cable runs down the risers and only using the building s legacy copper wiring for the last mile essentially from the risers near the lifts to your individual unit Given my existing Telstra NBN 100 plan topped out at circa 75Mbps in practice I was skeptical to say the least as I knew the copper wiring down to the MDF was clearly a bottleneck I spent a lot of time with the team at GigaComm and their installation team to understand what they were doing and the team were very helpful and supportive with getting the strata committee onboard There was only one hiccup with one of GigaComm s subcontractors and their timeliness communications with building management granted during the lockdowns and pandemic but otherwise it was a good experience and I appreciated how much time their team spent visiting us on site checking out potential installation locations providing lots of diagrams and installation plans etc From an end user customer perspective everyone from GigaComm has been great Installation went smoothly and on time once it was locked in note it does take some a few weeks between building wiring for building being done and when you as a customer can get it installed running and the tech support team were excellent at helping me troubleshoot as I wanted to get the most out of my connection since it was initially hovering around 800-850Mbps due to my self-provided Asus XT8 router s various QoS protections monitoring beamforming etc slowing down wired and wireless speeds The results in the screenshots speak for themselves but as you can see I m comfortably above 900Mbps averaging 900-950Mbps Latency is also reasonable with the usual popular Speedtest net servers in Australia between 1ms and 5ms I d also note that in the few months I ve been with GigaComm the service has been rock solid with only two very brief service interruptions one was a minute or two and the other was half an hour but it was due to another contractor in our building knocking out the connection unintentionally All in all highly recommended If you are considering this either as a customer or a strata committee member I cannot praise these guys enough and how well they worked with us There s plenty of positive feedback as well in other forums eg Whirlpool on the installation process too From a customer perspective they do manage to deliver on their promises despite my scepticism but I suppose the flip side is gigabit internet unfortunately doesn t come cheap The 1000 100 plan I was on costs 189 mth

The Internet provider is so good that I need to post my review under three different review websites
TLDR Way better download upload speed Download 200mbps and upload 50mbps at a friendlier price than my previous 90mbps NBN plan way better speed stability 200mbps is what I really got at all times to all of my newer devices and PING does matter to me better services both customer and internet services almost no down time except for maintenance during ungodly hours where I ll be sleeping and easy installation procedure with a very understanding home installer from GigaComm The best pricing for me counting the speed that you got even after counting in the extra monthly payment for their PLUME device that makes sure your devices get the best connection all the time To begin with my NBN plan was supposedly a 90mbps download speed and 20mbps upload speed package but in reality I really never got that high during office hours and let alone in the evening during peak hour Then came Gigacomm to our building which is a non NBN and using FTTB Fibre to the Building technology I could not be happier hearing that my Owners Corp finally worked together with GigaComm to get FTTB done with GigaComm Simply way better than my old NBN and most importantly a much more stable speed any time of the day Installation and connecting GigaComm to my unit was simple smooth progress and swiftly done even after counting in the time needed to troubleshoot and to ensure that we really got 200mbps to all of our newer devices Communication with GigaComm was easy and they are very understanding of our complex circumstances and conditions to plan and get the installation on time and work as intended 200mbps is what I get at all time with very low PING for my gaming purposes A stable 50mbps upload speed and stable connection are also very reassuring for 3 people in my apartment unit during work from home especially for me because my workplace heavily relies on connection to the server and all of the work constantly uploaded to the server to be processed and thus 50mbps upload speed really helped I also upload videos online as part of my side hustle and it has become so much faster now I am using their PLUME device and pay an extra monthly payment for it but it is worth the money because unlike your usual router PLUME helps me get the best connection for my devices by juggling between 2 4 GHz and 5 GHz depending on what I use the device for Less hassle for me not to change the connection manually Hope this review could help more people in deciding what internet service provider that they will use according to their needs Cheers

Value for Money ISP at Committed Performance surpassing NBN
GigaComm is the 3rd ISP the previous ISPs were based on NBN UltraFast ADSL in the past 12 months after moved in an apartment 23 levels building with FTTB at Sydney Northshore I was sceptical to try GigaComm mmW based on my experience from the two previous ISPs However I was so frustrated on previous ISPs jeopardising my business online meetings with unsteady data flow and irregular cut-offs during my online business meetings without any advance notice I registered my interest at GigaComm website on Saturday they called me back on the following Monday and advised connection to be available within two weeks I was lucky that the connection was actually made on the 8th day as the mmW antenna had already been installed at the building roof for earlier customers beforehand My plan is 100MB Dn 50Mb Up where speed tests in the past few weeks were higher than 100MB Dn at 4ms ping even though going thru a VPN and at about 50 49MB Up during tests at day and evenings and no cut off was noticed yet Based on the performance so far GigaComm is a fantastic ISP over mmW technology and value for money w courtesy customer service including advance notice on planned shutdown maintenance scheduled after mid-night I look forward to seeing a sustainable service performance by GigaComm in long term

Super fast
Super fast reliable and great serviceLiving in an apartment in Pyrmont and had been using a FTTB service for years - whilst that was reliable it could never provide the speeds that an FTTP service could And super fast broadband is out of reach When I was notified of a new service becoming available in our building that offered a broad choice of plans up to 1000 100 I have to say I was sceptical on the promise Having now been using for over 4 months now I can certainly attest that the service has lived up to the promise - and latency is consistently between 2ms and 3ms I went for the 1000 100 service as I wanted to see what it was like to have 1gb service and thought I can always dial it back It delivers what it says Have to say I have become addicted to the speed and it has been a godsend in lockdown with 2 people working and home schooling It s what the NBN should always have been before it was kneecapped I asked lots of questions as I just couldn t understand how they could promise the speeds and reliability Each building is part of a web of sites using mmWave with transmission on the roof of the building with centrally located infrastructure in the building core that then runs through the building core with limited distance in cable runs to enable the speed and is patched to existing cabling into the apartment This is unlike FTTB which has to travel a large distance on old style copper This is the nearest thing to FTTP and very glad we have innovative new players that are doing what the NBN just cannot deliver Could not be happier Whilst nothing to do with the technology I also have to say their people are great to deal with and provide an exceptional customer experience as well
