GLIDEROL GRD BEWARE
i bought a new roller door motor from BEST CHOICE N IRELAND supplier in JAN 2023 the make was GLIDEROL GRD I had a few hiccups when it would nt open during the year - always after i was away for a few weeks - but after being talked through a reset by phoning best choice i got it working again recently i had nt used the door for over a month and when i tried to open it on 21 Nov 2024 it continued to try to roll off the door when it had reached the floor i called best choice but they said their call out was 120 or on this occasion 80 as the warranty was only for a year i contacted Gliderol who arranged for an engineer to talk me through a reset of the limit switches but he could nt get it to work now after only a year and half of little use - i use my car 3 4 times a week and keep the tracks clean etc - i m left with a roller door i have to manually operate i am therefore very disappointed with this product and the support i ve had my friend in Austalia who had problems with his gliderol door had great support but this is a separate company apparently i m hoping Gliderol will react to this review as it is an honest account and for a roller door motor to give up after such a short period is a very poor advert for this product it is too dangerous to try operate by holding down the switch to open using the motor which still runs incidently but there is some issue with the limit switches which will not reset and have always been giving problems since the day i bought it

Poor customer service
Bought two replacement keys for my garage door when they arrived they were very flimsy and looked different to each other even though they were for the same lock and neither of them worked Called customer service who said I would be better to order a complete new lock and keys and they would refund me for the faulty keys if I returned them I purchased the complete lock and returned the keys but I haven t received a refund - waste of postage costs to return them

Not worth the cost - installation is not facilitate
I purchased an insulated garage door with optional extras Upon delivery I planned to install it with the help of someone else but quickly ran into problems The instructions were lacking in detail and crucial information and recommendations were either unclear or completely missing They also bundled all configurations together making it difficult to know what applied to my specific setup Although the roller door arrived pre-assembled as advertised the collar locking rings and motor were not installed correctly Unfortunately I only realized this after completing the installation which forced me to take the door down twice including the rails The ANSA RS-1 control unit which is quite expensive showed an error from the start The manual didn t make this clear and I ended up spending hours trying to configure it During this process both the door and the head unit suffered some minor damage Customer service is unavailable on weekends despite claims of being here to help so be aware of that Once I did reach support the installation still took another three hours four calls to Gliderol and two calls to ANSA The root of the problem was that the RS-1 unit needed a reset However the Gliderol manual s instructions were vague and misleading Even after following the described steps and receiving the expected feedback the reset hadn t actually occurred With ANSA s help I was finally able to reset it properly set the limits and finish the installation As for the product quality the insulation is underwhelming The front panel is a thin sheet of aluminum with no insulation and the door s design allows for significant drafts making the insulation upgrade mostly ineffective in even mildly windy areas The paint is also very delicate mine scratched just from resting on the included cardboard For a product that cost over 1000 I expected better quality and a smoother simpler installation as advertised Instead unclear instructions and incorrect pre-assembly extended the process to nearly three times the expected duration

Replacement garage door lock
I had to replace a faulty and old style garage door lock I contacted customer service by telephone this morning answered by Rebecca Martin Very polite and helpful person Photo sent and she replied within 5 minutes with on line link for the correct replacement lock with a willingness to help if I encountered any difficulties ordering the unit 100 customer satisfaction Well done Rebecca John Hamilton Scone Perth
