Don t touch Globe
We rented an F150 truck from Globe Rental in Montreal for a few days Globe recommended taking out the 1000 liability insurance instead of fully comp During the rental time someone left an about 8-inch surface scratch at the back of the vehicle We got the damage independently priced at 250 by three different reputable auto repair shops Globe Rental charged us 945 30 They have refused to give us a meaningful breakdown of these costs no doubt to make full use of our 1000 deposit Do not touch them Following Globe s reply below Globe are using alternative facts We of course contacted them immediately before leaving a review anywhere and it is only AFTER they rejected all our representations that we started leaving reviews They haven t even allowed our review on their own site We offered them quotes from the other reputable suppliers so Globe stating below they are not approved is nonsense Globe were never handed their names and therefore don t even know who they are It means Globe doesn t approve of any alternative supplier because it would lay bare their obvious strategy of hiking up prices Of course we still feel something is incorrect but as I say we contacted them already many times so pretending on here that we haven t is just a plain lie as is the laughable offer that they are happy to resolve matters The way they resolve matters is to reject any objections outright so the only way to resolve it now is publicity and legal actions

Was put on hold for an hour just to add
Was put on hold for an hour just to add a day to drive it to the USA You can t drive the car to the USA unless you call and tell them and pay a daily fee Sure except when you call you sit on hold for 20 min waiting before you can talk to someone then one of their customer service agents answers and they didn t know how to add a day and put us on hold for an hour finally they came back like hi who are you again they Didn t apologize and was rude wouldn t give us their name We emailed several times to address this horrible customer service and didn t get one response Crickets seriously they just ignored email after email Completely ignored Serious terrible customer service If you read the other negative reviews you ll see other horrible customer service issues Not worth whatever cheaper price they may have it will cost you Way more in the end if the owner sees this you need to fire some staff as this will hurt your bottom line as we don t want to use you again and we rent a lot

Seriously what is wrong with this company
I have rented from Globe twice prior This was the third time I rented to go to Quebec city where the car broke down The 24 hour towing service told us they could not pick us up given they did not have the license to tow in that area When I asked to just talk to a manager just so I can stop being bounced around from person to person they told me I wasn t allowed to have even his email and that he d contact me directly LOL so not only were we stuck in the cold -20C for 3 hours off the 20 in a blizzard we got charged extra instead of a refund because they didn t put in the right sign and they keep differing to other people I just want a stupid apology and refund for everything at this point I will keep additional details off the review but lets just say we have over 1000 not refunded to us I can t even pay rent at this point And apparently talking to them privately doesn t do anything so here we are Please just talk to me directly

Stay away read other comments Same thing happened to me We waited for pickup forever at Airport Small dent on bumper and they wanted over 2000 I was forced to pay as they sent it to credit bureau My car insurance company and my credit card company both declined to pay the claim because Globe couldn t provide evidence of damages I am suing you GLOBE Thank you

If I could pick negative stars I would
Update after posting several reviews of dissatisfaction with the non service I received from Globe I received a call from their office I received an apology and an offer to provide me with a cheque to cover the extra costs I paid for the car I was eventually able to rent from another company I did receive a cheque and appreciate the attempt to make the situation right If I could pick negative stars I would I reserved a car at least a month in advance and when I go to pick it up they don t have any vehicles for me I m told this as pick up I m visiting Toronto with my two children it s a Sunday when most car rental places are closed and you have the nerve to tell me you don t have a car when I m going to pick up I m leaving Toronto that day and need to check out of my accommodations and I m told that I need to understand the situation No you need to try harder to help me I will make sure everybody knows how horrible this company is Looking at previous reviews I should have checked better before reserving with this no name of company No wonder nobody has ever heard of you I will makes sure they do now but for good reasons Dollar Rental on Carlton went out of their way to help me unlike this piece of s t company Stay far far away

Potentially unsafe no guarantee of a car
Bad experience not unlike others Had rented the car for a week s drive out from Toronto to Ottawa1 Informed on the morning of the day of the pick up that no car was available because the person before me didn t return the car 2 They scrambled to find me a vehicle that had the ENGINE ERROR LIGHT persistently on And told us it was perfectly safe to drive it 5 hours on the highway And that if anything happened there was complimentary highway assistance Gee thanks for the free tow truck in the middle of nowhere Would I take that chance no way Pros Cheap agents that do try hardCons Unreliable availability with last minute cancellations cars with problems

Unbelievably incompetent and rude customer service
-I am appalled by my experience at the Villeray-Little Italy branch while trying to pick up my car in the morning This was undeniably the worst customer service I have ever come across -While our reservation was originally set for 9 am I received a call informing me to come through at 10 because the car hadn t arrived at the branch yet and washed -After arriving at 10 the sales rep Amir guaranteed us that the car would arrive at 10 30 at the very latest -This proved to be absolute nonsense since at 11 30 nothing had changed -I then justifiably suggested that we receive any sort of discount which he counter-offered by compassionately paying us a cup of coffee at the McDonald s next door I can t make this up -At 11 45 the car that I had reserved never came and the sales reps assigned us to another car that was parked in the lot -I decided to go along with the transaction but was unaware that a Visa credit was necessary to pay thus we couldn t go through with the rental -However my Visa debit that wasn t supposed to work was still charged 300 dollars -Amir assisted insisted that we come back with a valid credit card in the next 30 minutes otherwise he would give the car to another customer which is an astonishing demand because I had waited for over 2 hours in person for the car to arrive -Even though I didn t get the car since I didn t pay for the car rental Amir didn t give me any guarantee that I would be able to see my deposit back on my account -At least 6 clients were in similar situations as we were also dealing with very delayed reservations -All the while Amir was very inconsiderate and disparaging with them as well taking personal calls and belittling the fact that people had made plans even yelling at a customer who mocked his proposal to cover a coffee expense as some sort of compromise -I advise potential customers to avoid this branch at all costs absolutely laughable

Globe car rental a very bad unpleasant and unreliable service the cars are always misinspected they hand it to you with a sloppy wash half dirty but claims to be sanitized they will exploit your credit card and your money and if you lump a tire of 60 or even if you didn t they make u pay 350 for it after blocking a 1000 on your card for 20 days and had already collected insurance fees on top of it and sometimes they like to forget closing your contract then after 4 days they will freely deduct the amount from your credit card and when u call they tell you that you still have the car and they don t know where it is Whilst you had given it back and you start asking yourself what s next you re gonna say I stole the car and then it takes a week to reimburse the 300 definitely a fishy and crooked business not to mention bad policies and bad management for 20 years and more and customers fall victims cars automotive locationautoglobe sales customerserviceproblems montreal crookedcompanies insurance

The worst
The worst customer service Rented a car online with confirmation The next day got a call at 8am from an agent saying that the car will only be available not at the reserved hour but later on Cancelled my appointment and on my way to pick up the car called in and was told by a rude customer service person that in fact the car was not available and they had no clue when it will be there then he hang up on me Called back and fell on manager and was told that there no car and to go back home Spent thousands of dollars last year on rental at this place Never again They are the rudest most unprofessional business I have ever dealt with Shameful Avoid at all cost
