Not worth the expense
Contacted about my order no reply whatsoever Release dates came went no update on order books had been signed over a week later still no communication I understand there can be delays but that is no excuse to expect customers to wait indefinitely in the dark On top of that their p p is extortionate - 2 books in 1 parcel basic packaging sent Royal Mail 48 hrs tracked weight 500g p p was 11 Checking postage costs online I cannot see why p p is so steep In addition they have T Cs set up so they can charge you 15 p p for 3 books in 1 parcel - again checking costs on the Royal Mail website I cannot find any justification for this amount They tried to make out Royal Mail costs were the issue but it would seem this is not the case Not only that but other sellers of special edition books charge no where near as much also use much nicer packaging including wrapping the book in paper ribbon Other sellers also combine postage so p p is actually cheaper per book when ordering multiple items These companies are already cheaper than Goldsboro dispatch books closer to advertised release dates plus respond promptly to emails Additionally the books I receieved were not special enough to justify their higher price tag Other sellers gave much more in their editions for a lower price Quite honestly there was nothing from Goldsboro Books that justified their expense either in the price of books or the steep p p costs They were pretty much lacking in every area

First time trying to buy from Goldsboro
First time trying to buy from Goldsboro Books and will never try again Ordered a preorder book in December with a discount code waited until now for it only after chasing when they hadn t dispatched it do I find out that the discount code wasn t applicable to preorders yet their online system had allowed it and it didn t say anything about not being applicable to preorders at the time Staff who I spoke to not interested in anything other than charging more money Very poor service and it s taken 6 months to actually find out the problem If I could give no stars I would can t trust this company Customer service so poor Following the message just posted by Goldsboro Books in response to my negative comments I thoroughly checked the communication when the offer code was available and it made no mention of any preorder exclusions Aside from this it was obviously poor that your system didn t stop the transaction at the time Following my issue with Goldsboro Books I was contacted the day after and as an act of goodwill Goldsboro offered me a book which greatly improved my impression of them however if I purchased from you again I would certainly be cautious

Do Not Order From Goldsboro
Ordering from this company was the worst shopping experience of my life Ordered 2 limited edition books for my wife a couple of days apart and heard nothing for days and my first email chasing what was happening went unanswered After a second email was sent someone answered claiming staff sickness as the reason my orders weren t processed and I was told my orders would be processed and sent out the same day If you look at other reviews this seems to be their running excuse for months A couple of days later I received an email from Royal Mail stating that they have my parcel from Goldsboro Parcel arrived only one book inside and it was the second order first order still nowhere to be seen Brilliant I emailed and I emailed and I emailed for days no response I rang the store for days no response They had my money where was my book Nearly 3 weeks at this point The day I was going to file a dispute with my bank to get my money back I rang the store one more time and to my amazement they answered The girl on the phone said that they d been closed for 5 days to take part in some book festival 5 days and they couldn t send an email out or put a notification on their website stating this Still closing for 5 days isn t an excuse for the fact that they didn t send me my first order the previous 2 weeks they were open Working in a small business myself this is appalling customer service It makes me wonder if they would have actually sent out my order had I not continuously chased happy to keep hold of my money My first experience with Goldsboro was horrendous and I shall not be ordering from Goldsboro again I hope for your own sanity that you don t either

Would not order from again
I ordered a book on 20th August 2023 as of yet no book has been dispatched despite trying to contact by telephone and email I have received and email saying book will be dispatched but to date 14 9 23 nothing received I have lodged a disputed charge with my credit card company I would not recommend ordering from this company and wish I d read reviews before handUpdate as at 15 9 23 resolution now made with this company But still feel customer service only reacted when I mentioned a dispute would be raised

rude staff
such ashame have gotten some wonderful signed books from here online but when I went in person was very unhappy I wanted to buy a book which was in the window and the lady at the desk was very rude she had a nasty attitude saying she would get my book in a minute had to wait 10 minutes for her to get it keep in mind I was the only person in the shop Then she set the book back down on the desk and went back on her laptop I was standing infant of her waiting to purchase it and she was just giving me a nasty look when I asked to buy it She then proceeded to ignore me and act as if I wasn t there Then a couple came in and she started to serve them very happy and pleasant keep in mind I was there first at the desk waiting for her to even acknowledge me She then starts calling them by their names I assume she knows them friends or regular customers i m not sure I guess she only treats people with kindness if she knows them I was treated disrespectfully and ignored while she treated other customers nicely Appalled has really put me off purchasing from here again knowing that people like that work there makes me never want to go back

I was a member for many years and have spent hundreds of pounds with these people I loved receiving my books it was a joy to open inspect and catalogue my books I waited months for membership to the GSFF section and was pleased when i began to receive these also Towards the end of this year Goldsborog changed their system and I m told REQUIRED members to subscribe to a different site I found the process confusing and hesitated over the payment system which seemed to imply I would be charged twice My subscription has now been canceled and my long awaited place on the GSFF subscription given away I am angry and a little sad

Very poor
It might be an odd one but I recently had an awful experience with this shop I ordered a book online there was no confirmation of it being posted after two weeks and no other correspondence so I contacted them to enquire what was happening I was told the book was not in stock in the first instance and that I would be refunded for this Another fortnight passed with no correspondence and no refund I contacted them again and was told the same thing again I ended up referring the problem to my bank They are probably fine in person but I would avoid the online shop at all costs

I don t think they like their customers very much
Goldsboro Books sells lovely items The problem is their customer service They charge top dollar delivery fees but take weeks to dispatch anything with no updates There was an issue with one of the items I ordered Instead of dispatching the rest of the order and you pay for postage on an item-by-item basis so it wasn t like they had any reason not to post my other items they just sat on the whole order for two months without contacting me about the issue They only dispatched the other items after I emailed them to ask what was going on and I suspect I would have just lost my money if I hadn t reached out With regard to the item that was a problem - their solution was for me to contact their distributor to speak to them myself Are they having a laugh
