This software claims to be as safe as it can be but it really is not I just lost 11 years worth of data due to moving a btrfs partition The operation does it in an unsafe way in that btrfs itself has no awareness of the low-level operation when it would have been perfectly possible to have expanded the partition and then shrunk it so that the move result was the same but without risking the data The program IMHO should deny such dangerous operations when safer methods exist For anyone reading this a 3rd party tool may exist to fix the damage gparted does I cannot include it here as trustpilot does not allow links but it is a tool that finds the overlapping range after an interrupted GParted resize move
