Gorgeous Grobdale

We recently stayed a week at the Byre in Grobdale and had such a relaxing time The Barn is beautifully and tastefully decorated to a high standard and is very well equipped every detail carefully thought out The location is off the beaten track and absolutely stunning It is also convenient for Gatehouse of Fleet Castle Douglas and Kirkcudbright all of which are interesting whilst being very different from each other Sarah Andy and Lauren are extremely welcoming and friendly with nothing being too much trouble and they have created a very special holiday location We had such a good time that we have already booked to return in October There is someone else who deserves a special mention Jim the calm and patient sheepdog

If I could give ten stars I would This place is just wonderful run by a wonderful family This is my 4th visit and Grobdale never disappoints Nothing is every too much trouble for Sarah Andy and Lauren if you need anything For me the best thing about Grobdale is its location It s far enough out to have the peace and quiet I crave but close enough to villages and towns if I need to go for a cake coffee or a shop around I love being at one with nature it s where I am at my happiest and Grobdale certainly delivers I ve seen two lambs born helped with another two I ve seen loads of wildlife including Red Kites pheasant s Deer and two Golden Eagles Also love the choice of fresh eggs and real meat that Sarah s sells all grown naturally on the farm I love being able to unplug and unwind here My happy place always feel sad to be leaving but I will be returning for sure

5 Cosy family holiday

We have just returned from an amazing week at Grobdale of Girthon Sarah has put so much love into this business it really shows The cottage had everything we needed and more and Sarah and her family could not have done more for us The kids had the best time being shown the horses chickens pigs to name a few The cottage is ideally located with Gatehouse of Fleet just a 10 minute drive and plenty of fun family activities within a short drive The log burner and fire pit were fantastic we had a great time toasting marshmallows Thank you again for a lovely stay we hope to be back soon

Stunning accommodation hospitality and views This place really is a hidden gem and I can t say just how therapeutic a stay there is We will definitely be back and didn t want to leave This place is perfect in every way you won t be disappointed

Stunning rural retreat

If you love the natural beauty of Scotland you will be as overjoyed with Grobdale of Girthon as we were The Dairy was a fabulous stylish tasteful and comfortable conversion of an agricultural building the hosts have thought of everything They are on hand to welcome you and give excellent advice and guidance about things to do Their passion for the area is infectious we loved everything about our stay The guest information file is very informative well put together and clearly presented We enjoyed excellent weather exploring the area played golf and spent time on the outside patio which is very well furnished with fire pit and BBQ The farm animals are delightful and we brought home some of their honey and hand reared pork from the Tamworth pigs We can t wait to return Thank you for your wonderful hospitality

Fantastic stay in the Byre

We had a fantastic week in the Byre If you are after a peaceful remote location to switch off this is the place to come The attention to detail and the finishing touches were second to none Sarah Andy and Lauren made us feel very welcome and we will highly recommend this to our friends and family

Our stay at Grobdale

We wanted a place that was quiet and restful Grobdale was all that and more Sarah and Andrew along with their daughter were the perfect hosts nothing was too much for them Getting on in age we found the wooden seats in the kitchen area were rather hard but apart from that we could not fault anything we would have no difficulty in recommending Grobdale to all of our friends and we wish Sarah and Andrew success in all they do

Stunning location fantastic accommodation and lovely hosts in Sarah Andy and Lauren We have just returned from our third visit and have already booked a fourth for the winter It is the most incredibly relaxing place to be yet there is much to do and see within easy travelling distance
