Honest Review I hope they don t silence
Hello this review is a bit long but I want to put everything sincerely so that people who are looking to take a course to become yoga teachers can make a conscious and responsible decision I hope this feedback is not hidden like all the others that never came out or will come out because they don t publish them I booked my trip to Rishikesh at Gurukul in mid-June The communication from the administration was excellent there was never any problem I requested a private room with air conditioning which added 200 more to the cost It seemed a bit expensive but I accepted When I arrived at the school I found that the rooms with air conditioning were not within the school premises which I was never informed about when I reserved my spot They took me to two places which I did not like first because I did not know the area and second because of the hygiene When I returned to the school they told me they could give me a cooler for an extra 100 which I accepted because I was exhausted from running around after three days of travel and just wanted to shower and sleep When they showed me the room it was disgusting full of dust the bathroom super dirty and the sheets horrible too I literally had to walk to the town to buy detergent bleach Lysol and other things to clean the room myself The sheets and pillows were filthy i had to buy new sheets and pillow cover myself I let it go because I didn t want conflicts and aimed to clean the room myself during my stay we spend 4 days without electricity and the school generator give out which is not the school management fault so i decided to return the cooler and after a couple of days they refund me the 100 dollars Food is decent not the best i never ate inside the school premises because im a picky eater but is not what they advertised they don t have variety They treat local students students that comes from India vs Western students totally different i can testify that is in discriminatory way and I have proof of that they charged westerners 4 times more than local and when you complaint about it management just says they pay more taxes for foreigners Please please do your own research before going to a yoga school in Rishikesh this one doesn t have any negative reviews which now i understand why they hide everything and silence the people that have a negative experience I complaint about cleanliness in the common areas because they had trashcans full and they told me that im probably not used to the Indian culture I will be posting the pictures here Good thing about school that I cant deny is the education I had the opportunity to learn from exceptional teachers and mentors they hired fine and knowledgable people to teach and I would be lying if I say other wise So you can take classes if you want as a walk in but I highly recommend to stay elsewhere for sleep although in India Hygene in general is really questionable specially rural At the end of the 200 hours i decided to leave the premises to another hotel and they didn t even help with my luggage please please DYOR before leaving for a month and be very self conscious of what you will be getting yourself into and for how long update the school is saying that i m targeting them because i did not abide by the rules of the ashram which is totally untrue after check-in chenna was the one who gave me the room keys and there were two keys instead of one i was late one night by 30 minutes because i was with my classmates enjoying the ganga arti so here is the proof that the ones harassing me are the school sending our philosophy teacher to ask me to remove the review and threatening to cancel my certification mind you i m not a child tired of playing games especially in a place that i paid to be and where i should be treated decently I ALREADY SUBMITTED A REPORT WITH YOGA ALLIANCE AND WILL TAKE THIS TO THE LAST CONSEQUENCES IF I NEED TO SPECIALLY BECAUSE THEY KNOW IM TELLING THE TRUTH

My and my fianc did a 200 hour yoga teacher training course which got completed in 24 daysThe experience was simply amazing Your day starts at 5 30 in the morning with hatha yogaYou get served with Satvik food daily twice which has good variety as wellFor me Ashtanga was specially the highlight of it all simply exhilarating We were even taken for an excursionTrust me everything you think you know about yoga is going to change in a good way

I have completed my 200 hour yoga teacher training It was very frandy here The theacher are very nice I learned a lot from the teachers It was very intersting and i am able to practice more Food is always so good Always different everytime We have many sessions outside Teaching was very good All together was very nice I had a good time here

Great experience
I enrolled in 200Hr multistyle yoga teacher training course in the month of may 2024 The yogshala provides 2 meals a day - brunch and dinner Its very tasty and they offer wide variety of food in each The location is very close to Ganges river one can go for a dip everyday The water is very cooling There are multiple massage parlour and cafes near by We had classes from ashtanga - vinyasa hatta yoga philosophy classes ayurveda diet session shatkarma pranayama and yoga nidra seesion sound healing session Its a beautiful cozy and nature oriented property with many mango trees in the lawn I will definetely be coming back for another course

I enrolled in 200Hr multistyle yoga teacher training course at Gurukul Yogashala We had classes from ashtanga - vinyasa hatha yoga philosophy classes ayurveda diet session shatkarma pranayama and yoga nidra seesion sound healing session The property is very beautiful with full of mango trees in the garden area The food is very tasty and they offer wide variety of food in each The location is very close to Ganges river one can go for a dip everyday The water is very cooling There are multiple massage parlour and cafes near by I had a great time here and taking lots of memories with meI will definitely be coming back for another course

I had a great experience
I had a great experience as ambience is great of Gurukul Yogashala The teachers are amazing they know a lot of traditional practices The staff members are very nice and accommodating I liked my time here a lot Learned a lot of things Had a great time I have learned a lot from Arvind ji The asana practices have helped me open my heart I am so grateful to meet all the people here - teachers staff members made a lot of good friends and taking a lot of great memories Had a great time Will come back again to deepen my practice Thank you so much for wonderful memories

The teachers were full of knowledge and wisdom and truly the experience was life changing Facilities are basic but this feels like part of the authentic yogic discipline I would bring your own sheet for the bed though as the fleece blankets were hot

Life Changing Experience
Hi I am a beginner and I wanted to do and learn about Yoga Meditation since a very long time but was unable to find the correct initiation guidance Thanks to Gurukul Yogashala for providing me with the correct direction towards this path The arrangement of curriculum and class timings is streamlined flawlessly Very cooperative knowledgeable grounded teachers and Management I got a chance to practice teaching Yoga for the first time in my life and it was exciting The motive of gaining the higher experiences of life is fully attained and I will continue to practice it throughout my life Looking forward to unfold more such experiences with Gurukul in future Om Shanti

A trasformative experience

Namaste I have completed my 200-hour Multi Style Yoga Teacher Training Course TTC It was a wonderful experience to be at the school and gain knowledge that upon reflection seems helpful not only for imparting training in yoga but also for self-practice What I liked most about Gurukul Yogashala is the faculty which in my opinion is the most important aspect for a student with the intention to learn We had the best teachers guiding us through each practice pushing us to reach our potential while being mindful of any shortcomings As an Assistant Professor in Philosophy I found that I learned even more in-depth about yoga philosophy Courses like Anatomy which seemed challenging at first quickly became my favorite This experience made me realize that when approached in the right way things are often easier than they seem Our teachers in Ashtanga Hatha Yoga and Pranayama were also excellent It is commendable that our instructors were not only practitioners themselves but also skilled teachers which is a rare combination There were many other positive aspects such as the food the serene location and the basic amenities like accommodation which all worked well for me P S I was in a twin-sharing room I suggest that future students prepare themselves mentally for the intense training as this program requires dedication for almost a month It s an excellent opportunity for those committed to learning I am also very grateful to the school for the excursions they planned for us the complimentary Ayurveda session which was helpful in understanding one s own prakriti the sound healing session which was very relaxing and the kirtan evening as a closing celebration All in all it was an enriching experience Eternally grateful
