I did the U18s Tenerife volunteering which was such a great experience and I will definitely do it again It was lovely meeting new people and making friends and the staff are very welcoming and fun It had the perfect mix of relaxing and having fun while also doing the work required and exploring the Island

I have spent three happy weeks at GVI Ghana and am sad to leave I loved the educational experience my fellow volunteers and the base was comfortable The staff went out of their way to ensure smooth running and despite my 75 years I felt valued and useful I would recommend the programme to young and old alike

Best Decision Ever

I joined the GVI Tenerife program for whale and dolphin conservation and it was amazing The staff other volunteers and interns were so nice and the boat days were surreal In the two weeks I was there I saw Pilot whales Atlantic spotted dolphins a Bryde s whale and common dolphins as well as turtles and birds I recommend GVI to anyone wanting to try out is planning on getting into biology or conservation or who just wants to try something new and travel in a meaningful way

Excellent in-depth course

Excellent in-depth course with vast content You can spend hours reading and researching really fascinating modules Could be a bit more up to date dates mentioned tend to be up to 2019 however discussions at the end of each module tend to bring it up to date as the latest set of data is usually discussed There s also good support for students I personally received timely replies to all my queries I would definitely choose another course with GVI

I had a wonderful time got to meet amazing people and learn so many cool and interesting things about the animals we worked with and South African culture Each day we got to go out on game drives and work on conservation projects and data collection Overall an amazing experience

Best Trip Ever

I met the most amazing and kind people They are truly still my best friends even though they live halfway across the world I stayed in Tenerife working on a whale and dolphin conservation project We got to see pilot whales atlantic spotted dolphins and bottlenose dolphins so closely It was surreal Beach cleans were incredibly rewarding and actually fun with the friends we made There were all kinds of cool activities for when we weren t busy- surfing canarian cooking and hikes It was very cool and I wouldn t trade the experience for anything

Going to come back

It wouldn t be an exaggeration to say that this experience has changed my life in the best possible way I was able to learn so much about the country I was truly happy to call home for 3 months Being able to interact with the community and getting the chance to know individuals on a personal level made it such an authentic and enlightening time of my life
