A wonderful day out
So after having a pizza with the grandparents we went to Hamleys I ve not been there since a child myself and being able to take my son brought back all the wonderful memories I had with my dad We went this year during the summer holidays It was busy but wonderful to see the 3 members of staff performing outside the store singing and dancing My little boy was offered to join in the dancing and he did before we went to look in the store Seeing optimus prime was a highlight for us both the toy story level was great as my sons a big fan of buzz etc and the lego Isle It was all just a wonderful experience we watched the demonstrations no pressure to buy anything like some stores can do All the staff were friendly on approach and welcoming especially the staff that were front of house on the day we came in The staff have a genuine persona and seem happy in what they do I really hope they re appreciated as it takes a very special individual to do this job I m sure they get some little monsters in there sometimes lol So much energy and enthusiasm from the staff superheros without the cape my only minor criticism is the till staff were talking amongst themselves and a little slow on the checkouts but overall an absolutely smashing day

A ray of light in the midst of a lot of negativity
I ordered some toys for Christmas in early December on standard delivery which was free due to the cost of the order I received confirmation and awaited delivery Whilst I didn t hear anything for 6 days I wasn t unduly bothered as its Christmas and I understand they must be very busy I did read the reviews on Trustpilot and this quite frankly got me worried but I waited as there was no need to contact anyone as the order wasn t overdue I was truly disappointed as many people appeared to be unecessarily bombarding Hamleys with emails demanding to know where toys were when they were not actually overdue or missing - presumably due to the mass of negative reviews Today my parcel arrived via Hermes - as they had advised me yesterday that it would and I am delighted with my purchases They are lovely and I have absolutely no complaints about Hamleys service the quality or the delivery

Exceptional customer service
I ordered a Steiff teddy bear and a puzzle online for my niece and nephew but had issues with the delivery company I tried to contact Hermes for over an hour through various channels and frustration arose as it proved impossible to speak to an actual person and Holly the bot kept saying the issue had been solved despite my parcel still missing grr I called Hamleys directly and their customer service and proactivity was exceptional which I greatly appreciated In my opinion a company s customer service shows its true colours in how they deal with issues after purchase as many companies are proactive and friendly during the shopping experience but challenging to get hold of when issues arise Hamleys is a keeper and I got a great price on both the bear and the puzzle due to the discount code and sale

Genuine Quality Yet Not So Costly
Having lived in NW1 and worked in SW1A I regularly walked passed Hamleys on Regents Street and almost as regularly popped in - I ve got a 5 year old son The staff can be a bit pushy and annoying at time but other than this very minor quibble this shop approaches perfection I simply adore it Prices are a tad higher because of the location but you can be sure that you re getting quality and what a choice Huge floor upon huge floor filled to the brim with stuff that you yes you and your kids will love My tip is buy the missus the Syma S108G Marines Cobra Attack RC Helicopter for Xmas if she doesn t want it then well you know who will snigger -
