Would not recommend
I m shocked by the last review because I had the complete opposite experience dealing with hansells when I bought my first home The whole process took 5 months which I understand is partly due to the pandemic but there was definitely a lack of attention to detail on Hansells part that delayed things The most disappointing aspect was the poor customer service I received from my solicitor She was rude unhelpful and never kept me up to date on the progress After 5 months of dealing with the same person she passed me on to someone else the week before I completed and I never heard from her again which I found extremely unprofessional It would have taken 2 minutes to send an email saying that I would deal with someone else from that point I truly do believe I could have moved in much quicker had I gone through a different solicitors and would discourage people from using Hansells for conveyancing I did report my disappointing experience to Hansells 2 month ago but I never got a response so I can only assume they are only interested in positive feedback This is the first review I ve ever left for anything but I felt so disappointed and let down by them throughout It was a very stressful time and this was exacerbated by the terrible service I received from my solicitor All the negative opinions I had about Hansells were backed up when no one bothered to acknowledge my feedback

Incredibly disappointed wouldn t recommend
I am very disappointed by the service from Hansells I am receiving currently I m at a loss of what to do next after making a complaint to the director over a month ago and never hearing back I had one solicitor from November-February who was very rude and unprofessional never got back to me then told me with 2 days notice she was leaving and I would have someone else Since then I was assured I would have a solicitor I could contact directly and who would see this through to exchange That has not been the case I can never get through and when I do I m passed to someone else and never feel my concerns are heard or dealt with I will contact on a Monday and hear nothing until Friday afternoon then am constantly palmed off to other people and I just don t know who I am supposed to speak to or if anyone is doing anything Between the various solicitors they ve lost paperwork not responded to sellers solicitors told me they were waiting on responses when these had in fact been sent If it weren t for the estate agent I would not have got to this point in the sale as I haven t had any support from Hansells and feel so at a loss of what to do I am a first time buyer doing this alone and I feel so incredibly let down by the whole process I should have been supported and made to feel they have my case in hand but instead I feel anxious and like I need to constantly ask what is happening to ensure someone is actually working on my case It has already taken 5 months and I am so worried this will continue to take much longer with poor communication and what feels like a lack of care or willingness to see my house purchase go through

Two phone calls web contact form and direct emails - still no response or acknowledgment from anyone at Hansells previous client too Very poor customer service K J L Solictors in Blofield far more responsive and helpful

Terrible Communication Poor Customer Service
After separating with my ex-partner in 2021 we settled upon our finances with the help of a solicitor at Hansells Despite longer than ideal delays on responses I was happy with the end result at the time and was advised by Hansells to send the agreed funds to my ex-partner Upon concluding this matter I was advised that another solicitor at Hansells would need to complete my transfer of equity I instructed them to proceed in late January I received a request for information which I returned late February and as far as I can tell the case has not progressed since then The first solicitor assigned to my case went on maternity leave the 2nd solicitor sent correspondence to the wrong email address for my ex-partner went on holiday and then left the business The third solicitor is now on holiday and as far as my understanding goes has not even looked at my case yet I ve received no updates on my case since February other than when I call only to be told that nothing has changed and often get either no responses to emails or they take over a week to reply only to be told that they haven t made any progress with my case Hansells still have my deposit payment my mortgage offer is ticking down to expiry and I cannot see an end in sight I m now concerned that my mortgage offer will expire and any new offer received would cost me thousands more in interest due to the now higher Bank of England base rate I would not recommend this company to anyone unless you re willing to be kept in the dark for 4-8 weeks at a time and passed around from solicitor to solicitor for months on end

Hansells past fraud and theft were my late father s
Hansells were my late father s solicitors I was an executor their most senior solicitor went on to steal 200k from our account and 1 5m from five six clients in total Although the money did eventually get paid back it delayed the administration of the estate by probably two years The managing partners Messrs Holden Eagle did absolutely nothing to help I had to get on my knees and beg Holden to discount our fees There was never any apology or remorse they were both wrapped up in their overinflated egos and pomposity The thieving solicitor has never been brought to book or incarcerated The women in the conveyancing dept were good and I have no issue with them In the last decade we have probably spent the best part of 80k with which could be the worst firm of solicitors in Norfolk No thanks no appreciation nothing Avoid this company like the plague they will take your money for little or no reward and no result

I was recommended them by another BACK IN 2015 AND NEVER AGAIN
I was recommended them by another solicititor friend in 2015 and they did sort out my father s will etc etc They did enhanced the fees on his death - that luckily my co-excretor clocked it as I would not have done so due to sustaining a serious injury whilst also caring for my dying father plus other challenges They still have my share of my father s estate but locked my divorce proceedings due an outstanding bill of 700 for October 22 Really They were told I needed a phone call if important as they knew my husband had hacked into my gmail account - as reported to Police October 22 I have paid my bill still no reply I got more help from Citazen s Advice 6th December I laugh out loud about the no-fault divorce laws with the antiquated finacial settlements shcedule in England and Wales I have submitted 6 Finacial Statements to date I have heard no strong counter arguement from Hansells that I should not be expected to pay for my younger and fit husband with my state pension and 14 hours hotel work whilst he has all our chattels from our service house I was not allowed to access anything as Howes Persval told him he owned everything despiste me fleeing from the house due to Domestic Abuse and now living in three houses in France brought with a gift from my and my father s money to renovate it I also invested in his pension pot and have been told by Hansells he will get the lion share CONTRARY to others I look forward to Hansell s respopnse

Give us your money
Hansells were contacted as they were local to Norwich to make an urgent Will for an elderly gentleman in Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital who has terminal cancer An explanation to Mr Hale from Hansells concerning this gentleman was given saying that there were no investments shares no property and one bank account involved all appeared to be reasonably straightforward Mr Hale said he would fulfill my request once certain conditions were met To quote from his email 800 plus VAT 960 paid on account before the meeting bank details will be provided if wishes to proceed This was a minimum payment the email stated it would be between 800 and 1200 plus VAT Three other Will-writing solicitors were contacted After relating exactly the same to each solicitor as I had told Hansells they informed me of their prices I then related what I had been told by Hansells in writing There was an audible gasp from one disbelief from another and a brief query if I was being scammed by the third I chose an extremely well-respected Norwich company that delivered exactly what was requested and from initiation to completion within forty-eight hours the Will was completed this incidentally included two visits to NNUH The fee for this excellent service was paid immediately upon completion It was not cheap but resembled nothing like Hansells quoted I have no problem paying for professional services your fees were considered exorbitant by everyone however once I was told that unless payment was received before you got out of your chair I was absolutely disgusted May I respectfully suggest that you review your working practice and possibly request an initial deposit that would not make you look like a money-grabbing company

I contacted Hansells terrible firm
I contacted Hansells and was told that a Neil Stubbs would contact me I informed him that I had been told 1 hour in court would be fine He quoted me 250 for this which I agreed A couple of days later I received a written quote of thousands and Mr Stubbs said it could take a year I immediately cancelled him and told him he had been dishonest I then receive a bill for 600 2 weeks later it went to court and did take 1 hour Thank God I cancelled Hansells I am reporting him to the Law Society and the ombudsman My advice don t touch Neil Stubbs with a barge pole My dates are aprx Incedently one of Hansells solicitors has just been jailed for 4 years for steeling clients money Lovely firm

Poor Performance
Looking back I deeply regret not checking Hansell s negative reviews before making initial contact with them It has been over 20 weeks since our initial outreach to Hansells concerning a leaseholder issue After explaining our situation to them they assured us that they could offer assistance and provided a comprehensive breakdown of their fees along with a client care document Encouraged by this we made the decision to proceed and engage their services However after a silent period of four weeks on their part I took the initiative to email them seeking confirmation that we hadn t been overlooked I also conveyed our willingness to explore alternative options if they were overwhelmed with other cases Nevertheless they maintained that our case was advancing and we chose to continue with them Ten weeks later we received a draft letter which we revised before sending it to the leaseholder We received a bill for the letter via email within hours Hansells informed us that they had received a swift response from the leaseholder and that our options were under consideration with an assurance of a prompt follow-up However after an additional two weeks when we inquired about a progress report none was provided Three more weeks elapsed and I decided to call their office to inquire about the status of our case only to discover that no progress had been made Frustrated by the lack of action I requested a refund of the money I had paid We now await to see how long it will take to process this

Dreadful conveyancing from emma bumphrey Mistakes made and no apology Email sent to me from Paul oflaherty inviting me to a legal meeting with ex employee now prisoner in hmp Norwich Hugh Peter lansdell who defrauded 2 million from client accounts I was given 200 to keep quiet by Roger holden Matter is with Legal ombudsman and hope they investigate this firm Appalling service
