Got a quote for 1292 through a comparison site few days later tried to buy the quote Unfortunately hastings decided wow been a few days since the quote has been made Changed the quote to 6600 Understandable few hundred quid difference not 5 and a half grand Had a right cracker hearing that Great work hastings direct Another customer bites the dust

burst water pipes
After a very scary experience of burst water pipes on the 16th December 12 days ago which caused me to have no electric heating or water I tried to contact home emergency Unfortunately I was unable to speak to anyone but instead was sent a form via text to fill out Was told to except a call back After numerous attempts to speak to someone has still not heard regarding a claim guidance or how we go about fixing our issue Would definitely not recommend this company This is not the level of care I would expect in this very worrying and stressful situation

Word of warning
Word of warning do not EVER insure with Hastings EVER 9 months after getting burgled and my house trashed with lots of valuables taken Hastings are doing EVERYTHING they can to avoid paying out - even going so far as to slyly imply myself and my elderly parents who discovered the burglary are somehow complicit 9 months of them dragging their heels asking for more and more information photos valuations etc all whilst trying to twist my words and still nothing Absolutely disgusting a truly awful company to deal with and I cannot state strongly enough how much I detest them Disgraceful on every level I ll be posting repeatedly on every single social platform I can to try and save others the GRIEF they ve put me and my family through Am referring them to Ombudsman and seeking legal advice also I shall update this review a time goes on

Worst insurance company ever
Worst insurance company I have ever dealt with Took out a policy at a reasonable price and paid the yearly amount by credit card online Money has left my account and got a message saying I am now covered Next day when setting up their app it tells me I owe another 120 When asking for an explanation for this they came up with all sorts of excuses such as saying I had only paid a deposit Has anyone ever paid a deposit on an insurance premium Eventually they claimed I hadn t paid and hadn t taken out the policy meaning I have been driving around uninsured Had to tell them just to cancel my policy and refund my money son waiting to see when I get it refunded If this is how I am being treated after being with them for 12 hours then I want nothing to do with this company

Had to cancel due to car being uneconomical to repair rip off price for new car cover so had to go elsewhere so this bunch of robbers have charged me over 70 00 for just 20 days of cover Excuses will be cancellation fee etc but they are totally geared up to rip off their existing customers by either charging extortionate fees for a different car knowing that you will shop elsewhere or charging a rip off cancellation fee Avoid these greedy insurers

The company is not listening and not prepared to even lower my insurance at all They have the interest of new customers and electric owners at the detriment of existing customers I have a fairly old car and no real value if written off but I am expected to pay out for the repairs of newer vehicles This is all wrong I get the impression that if one insurance company jumped of Beachy Head the rest would follow That is the mentality of these company CEO s

The company has a great lack of transparency in my personal opinion The are experts at reducing duty if candour to a fine art that Hobbes would recognise Never ever expect a simple interaction Raising a complaint places your in a Orwellian play With go to the FSO its not a issue to us We are beyond regulated behaviour we navigates the hole in regulation and build our policy around this Welcome to the free market

The wrose insurance company
The wrose insurance company I had to deal with They asked for more evidence of my vehicle which I submitted then within less than an hour they decided to cancel my insurance and charge me a 40 cancellation fee when it s them canceling my insurance and putting me into so much trouble having to go through finding another insurance company compare prices etc Their excuse was modification happened to my car which it hasn t I had a 30-minute call explaining this to them and they didn t even weave the 40 cancellation fee off Worse service ever Do not go with them

Failed to ring me back when they hadn t removed my non-claim after four months I only found this out after trying to stop my renewal when they sent a snotty threatening email followed two days later by a letter when I d paid Forget the Ombudsman go to Financial Conduct Authority FCA they fine immediately

Awful experience
Awful experience Avoid Hastings essential policy if you can I was in a NON FAULT accident in September 2024 I feel the need to stress this as my Hastings treated me so poorly to the point you d think I caused the accident It took them 6 weeks to value my vehicle when it was written off and when they did the valuation was paid to me before I could even approve it Called up to challenge this and was told I did approve it when infact I was on a plane with no internet connection when the payment was approved - Hastings could provide me with no evidence that I had approved their valuation My vehicle was undervalued my gap insurer confirmed this requested a valuation for hastings to not budge Involved my gap insurance who requested documents - Hastings refused to provide them Gave me 30 days to find a new car fine as the T Cs stated this would happen but how was I to do this with insufficient funds and no help from Hastings when I needed to involve my gap insurance They then cancelled my policy as I was unable to do so given the fact their pay out was incorrect - policy was reinstated when I challenged the decision - I received an apology letter at the time but the hurdles didn t stop there Found a replacement car and called to update my policy only to be told by possibly the rudest customer service agent in the world that my policy was online only he wouldn t take the call so use the app logged onto the app to make the change error message appears can t make the change online please give us a call we will be happy to help - laughable Eventually found someone willing to help but was told they would not insure the new vehicle for the remainder of my policy Miraculously the customer service team was able to do so when they changed my policy to say I used the vehicle to commute which I don t Had to pay an additional 120 on top of the 2 6k that I had originally paid for my policy when I found a replacement car I was in my first year of driving when I chose Hastings and the way they handled everything very nearly put me off getting a new car all together as I believed every insurance company would be the same I ve renewed my policy elsewhere and the level in customer service and care is crazy I will never use this company again
