Beware of Hertz at Charleroi Airport
They take advantage on customers who refuse to pay for additional coverage and have to leave the car on their parking out of their office opening hours by charging additional fees on their credit cards for already existing damages This is what happened to me and my husband last month we decided to spend a week-end in Brussels and booked a car with Hertz via Ryanair website We arrived at Charleroi Airport at 12 00 a m on 20th March and went straight to Hertz office The employee asked for my husband s ID driving license and credit card He checked something on his computer and told us the additional coverage would cost us 27 a day We said we weren t interested but he insisted saying that most problems like scratches broken glasses and flat tyres weren t even the driver s fault but we said we were fine He gave us the car s key and a draft of the car with the already existing damages drawn on it and told us that given that our flight was at 06 00 a m on 23rd March we would have to leave the document in the car and the key in their mailbox I asked him how they would cancel the deposit 200 on our credit card then and he said there would be no problem at all as it would automatically be cancelled He didn t come with us to make sure everything was fine with the car so we compared the damages drawn on the draft with those on the car and they seemed ok but I still felt the need to take a picture of every single scratch I found on the before we left Hertz parking Everything went just fine and we left the car just like we found it three days earlier that is with no additional damage on Hertz parking at 05 30 on 23rd March with the document in it and left the keys in their mailbox On 26th of March I checked our credit card extract and an amount of 209 87 was still blocked by Hertz I therefore wrote them an e-mail asking them to cancel the deposit but received no answer I checked my credit card extract again on 12th April and the mentioned amount was still blocked so I wrote them a new e-mail I received an answer from a Mr Sebastiano Rullo a few hours later saying that the referred amount would be debited from our credit card to cover for two scratches on the rear bumper and sent me some pictures of the so-called damages we caused I had a look at the pictures and of course the mentioned damages were already there when we picked up the car on Hertz parking on 20th March I sent them the picture I took of those damages on 20th March at 12 37 a m and explained that we didn t cause those damages because they were already there when we picked up the car from their parking and that the picture I was sending them proved what I was saying and asked them to cancel the deposit on my credit card I haven t got any other answer from them since then and they still haven t cancelled the amount of 209 87 that will be charged on my credit card next month so I decided to made this situation public Never again will I rent a car with Hertz and will certainly make everybody I know become aware of what a fraud they are

Worst rental company I had to deal with What a shame advisor said to fill up the car and the car was missing fuel to start with Came back to the advisor he said the gauge is faulty Was handing the car back and filled up and the gauge was fine Told the advisor he said sorry thanks for the info

400 euros extra for a little less air pressure in 1 tire
After renting a Polestar from Hertz Charlerois for five days which cost me 350 they charged me over 400 for low pressure in a tire Compensation of more than 400 euros for just a warning light indicating low pressure in a tire huh I have been trying to contact Hertz for over a week I made dozens of phone calls sent emails filled out web forms nothing No answer at all I ve tried Hertz Charleroi Airport where I rented my car I ve tried Hertz Netherlands I ve called Hertz Belgium in Zaventem and in the UK they just don t answer the phone try it yourself and you ll find out The only person I was able to speak to was when I called the Hertz number for new reservations but he hung up on me when he found out I was calling about this scam No matter where you rent Hertz will try to rip you off A few years ago in Rome they made me and my family wait for an hour with lies about there being no car etc so I got tired of waiting and right then they tried to get my signature on a bill with extra costs which doubled my rental costs That time I was there to prevent them from taking my money This time they just waited until I was back home and then I got the bill with an extra charge of 400 euros for a tire that I could have inflated a little more at a gas station I feel so ripped off

Discraceful
Over an hour late this was no good for me so had to cancel still have to pay 30 cancel fee funny if i was late collecting or returning they charge me dont bother go to anyone else

These people are a Ripoff
These people are a Ripoff Despite having a fully paid voucher from discovercars com including all charges like airport taxes and a full to full petrol requirement I filled the car before dropoff I was billed extra 82 88 EUR for fuel and taxes All these charges were paid for upfront and clear as crystal fuel policy and yet Hertz refuses to acknowledge any fault or compensation Renter beware

Impossible to reach through on their
Impossible to reach through on their customer service line Just tried calling 4 times After going through all the annoying menus and waiting for about 15m they just disconnect the call Great service guys There is nothing more frustrating than trying to talk to customer service and having to waste half a day to try and do so

Dirty vehicles full of sand when collected Hertz customer service took almost a week to answer my complaint email with no solution offered Booked 3 times with Hertz and twice with Thrifty in the last 6 months I was always happy Saddened to have this poor experience

Hertz guys at Brussels airport sucks
Due to airports strike my flight from Athens to Brussels moved 20 hours later Although i modified my reservation when i arrived at Hertz s desk at the airport holding a 7 months baby the employees refused to give me the car i reserved because i had to be there three hours later This is company s policy i have been told I cancelled immediatelly my reservation i gifted Hertz what i had prepaid and i will never use this company because my policy says that you exist cause of us Bye Bye
