Look before you sign or taking the keys

I really don t get all of you that are angry and upset because as you say it is forced to pay more than agreed 1 The extra fee is either a deposit which is mandatory at ALL rental-companys to cover any case of damage re-fueling or other costs not associated with the agreed cost for the car And this deposit may vary from company to company and what type of car you rent The fee also apply even if you sign for excess waiver loss or similar 2 Another fee is also for any extra insurance that they want to sell to you for your own safety This is NOT mandatory but relives your excess costs in case of damage to you in case of crash or the car But again it s not mandatory Always check whether your credit-card covers damages to rental cars if not this insurance may be good In some countries extra insurances like theft protection and Liability cover is mandatory Always check the good to know section and also when making the reservation what is NOT included in the rate This rates applies when collecting the car 3 It is your own responsibility to check what you sign for Do you sign a loan agreement without checking it first for example Then of course if the sales agent at the counter just add an extra insurance without telling you there is another situation but still if you look through your papers before you sign them you have time to question the extra fee charge 4 If you have an agreement saying Total cost 200 for example then this is the rate you are going to pay note PAY not what is blocked on your card during the rental time However be aware of small extra fees that may apply for different locations countries and times This fees may be added without your knowledge but it is always stated on the website or similar what may apply
