Over due parking payment

Had dealings with this company Debt Recovery Plus because of a parking ticket issued by Horizon parking in Asda Dunstable A N P R shows I exceeded the free hour and therefore I was due to pay a 70 fee but if settled within 14 days it would reduce to 40 after 28 days back up to 70 they applied to the DVLA for my address details and promptly sent out the ticket however DVLA had the wrong details due to my car being a lease car the lease company had given DVLA the wrong address so Debt recovery Plus did a search and found me 17 months after the original offence at my correct address by which time the fee had increased to 140 because of non payment So I phoned and explained to the agent who worked at Debt Recovery Plus who I must say was very Polite and Helpful but he said I still had to pay the full amount as it was my fault that D V L had the wrong address for me But It was not my fault and how is it my fault as you do not get a log book with a lease car so how could I have checked my details against the DVLA without it So on checking with the lease company they admitted it was their error or the car suppliers error and they would pay the difference between 40 and 140 so back again to the collection agency and spoke to a different agent who again was very polite and helpful but said it was my place to pay --- so I paid the ticket What I am getting at is The many bad ratings on here about the Debt recovery plus being rude and ignorant is not my experience No-one likes to pay for a parking ticket but at the end of the day if you are guilty of the offence then just pay up shut up and get it over with And also try speaking to the agents politely and calmly and treat them with respect as you would like them to treat you as they are only trying to do their job properly and then ------Maybe--- just ---- Maybe they will treat you nicely too Give it a try as manners cost nothing

Despite all the terrible reviews about this company I can only describe what happened with my dealings I received a parking ticket having parked my car in a car park in Worksop Nottinghamshire I knew that I had paid the required amount and so appealed by e mail I didn t receive a reply straightaway and feared the worse so I paid the fine as I did not want to stray into the doubling of the fine to 80 The day after paying it I received an e mail advising me that they had cancelled the ticket as I had put the wrong registration number into the pay computer I then e mailed them again explaining the situation and they replied saying that my fine would be re-imbursed to my Visa account which it was I cannot fault their dealings with me as it was MY fault for entering the wrong registration number - lesson learnt They acted in good faith

What can I say I overstayed over 1 hour and 34 minutes Thought it was ok I did my shopping in tescos then went up the street for lunch I should have moved and payed for parking glad it s only 20 pounds and not the 70 I have learnt a lesson

I received an automated parking fine from a visit to Sainsbury s Hinckley Having produced for them a copy of my paid receipt it became evident that I had unwittingly made a one-letter typo in the originally entered reg-number at the machine when paying I went through the appeals process followed the instructions given online and submitted my appeal and it is great to see that there is an actual human-being and with empathy at their-end Fine duly cancelled common sense prevailed and on my part I will now ensure that going forward to double-check what I enter at the machine Thank you
