Our daughter started working with InGenius during her junior year in high school I initially spoke with a representative who spent almost an hour discussing our daughter and her college journey At the end of the conversation I truly felt the InGenius Prep counselor understood my daughter and importantly how to guide her A senior counselor was assigned to our daughter right away and they began Zooming within a few days During her fall semester of her junior year they held weekly video conferences every Tuesday at 7 The video conferences then went to 2x per week The main essay began to take shape as did the supplemental essays Although the process was overwhelming the InGenius approach was methodical from the beginning The global plan was to figure out what needed to be in the main essay vs the supplementals At one point the InGenius counselor advised they were going to start from scratch Our daughter was devastated However she is now a few weeks from hitting the send button and is happy and confident with her essays and supplementals InGenius helped her organize the activities list within the word limit When the activities list was completed my wife exclaimed wow brilliant not sure how they were able to manage the descriptions within the word count The process took many hours and was well worth it A side benefit of the experience is that our daughter learned to write at a much much higher level The counselor assigned to her provided weekly assignments for her to write and edit her essays He also provided thought provoking prompts and feedback every couple of days Our daughter was provided with resources and readings related to writing the college search process and insider tips from actual college admissions counselors and readers employed by InGenius Prep In the process of working with her counselor she honed her grammar analytical reading skills and writing Her reading comprehension score on the ACT jumped from a 21 to a 34 Although we didn t hire InGenius for ACT prep we give credit to InGenius for guiding her analytical reading skills over the past year If we had another child going through the college application process we would hireInGenius Prep as soon as possible Our daughter will likely get into her top picks Thank you InGenius -- Joseph M Westport Connecticut
