New bedroom carpet
Excellent service from start to finish We were welcomed the moment we stepped through the door and given good advice on the carpet samples we looked at Fitting was booked at the point of order Prompt and excellent service from the carpet fitters We are very pleased with our new carpet and would not hesitate to recommend Jim s Carpets to anyone

Poor experience from order to current
Poor experience from order to current My partner and I went into Jim s carpets in October and ordered laminate flooring vinyl flooring and carpets The first snag after ordering was being told the laminate flooring we ordered was no longer available They didn t check the stock when we were in the store We then had to make another trip to Jim s and select a new floor Credit where credit is due - Jim s did match the price when we asked We took out the 0 finance option and were given dates for the installs to take place The Laminate flooring went in without issue The vinyl fitter however did not show up on the day he was suppose to We then had to change Jim s several times to find out what was going on and everyone we spoke to would say that So and So isn t here etc no one at Jim s took responsibility of the issue and made sure that their fitter got in touch with us - until I called in and insisted they do so three times before we actually got a call back from Steve Steve then told my partner he would come around the following week at tea time He went from work back to Huddersfield to the house and waited there until 19 45 when Steve finally answered his phone - He had forgotten he was suppose to come by and fit our vinyl and the remaining carpet on the stairs So my partner had to sit there for two and a half hours in an empty house waiting for absolutely nothing - never mind the full day we sat there when he didn t show up at all to do the Screed work So Steve promised to ring him this morning to sort out fitting for today and informed us that he could not come today We can t even have someone else fit the flooring because he has our materials with him We have a cooker being installed today in the kitchen which is gas so we will have a gap around the stove which is unacceptable Steve has promised to come tomorrow to fit our floor apparently but I have no hope in that because so far he has been a massive flake who hasn t kept his word This was my 3rd purchase from Jim s carpets and it will be my last Poor service and poor after care They use to be a good family business which I fully supported and recommended Now no They even took the credit already for the flooring so we re paying for floors which are not actually completely fit

Do not buy a carpet from this company
Do not buy a carpet from this company I spent over 700 on 2 stair carpets The fitting was horrendous it was visibly frayed at the edge constantly kept coming loose on the stairs and looked a mess Their carpet fitter came out 4 times to try to correct it and when it started to come loose once again I insisted they sent out a different fitter He was appalled and said that the whole carpet needed replacing as it had been fitted so badly it couldn t be re-fitted When they replaced the carpet they found that the carpet was also faulty the backing had turned to dust in the words of the fitter which was one of the reasons it kept coming loose In fitting the new carpet the new paintwork inevitably got quite badly scratched despite the carpet fitter taking care as the grippers and underlay also had to be replaced When I spoke to Jim s Carpets about this they told me that they had replaced the carpet as a gesture of goodwill and it was just tough that the paintwork had been scratched - that was for me to sort out Terrible customer service had to constantly chase them at each stage Coudln t be worse to be honest

Awful customer service
Had someone come out to measure for carpet lovely guy friendly and was professional and quick Had an email asking which carpet we want for pricing We have no idea on how much we need to I asked for the measurements so we would know what our budget was price per metre have heard nothing back chased last week and no one has come back to me They have definitely lost a customer now

Disappointing Experience
Firstly Don t think Jim s Carpets is a quaint little carpet shop on Kirkstall Road It s a part of a much bigger operation called Floorstore with a huge warehouse at Cross Green and whose Directors live in those leafy suburbs North of Leeds where you and I can t afford to buy a house Secondly Despite claiming to be a family business with 135 year of history it s values today do not live up to it s promises Any business that hides behind it s Terms Conditions in response to a genuine customer complaint is not one that I wish to do business with anymore and I shall not be returning Despite escalating my issues to the Directors I was given apologies but regrettably they are not liable for seemingly anything that goes wrong after you have paid your money Please see the T C s they said They ensure you pay for all the materials prior to fitting and it is left to the sub contract fitters to make the best of what they can Most disappointing

Dont buy they sell SECONDS
Dont buy they sell SECONDS take your money up front and then zero after sales customer service 2 out of the 4 carpets have large faults on them - even there own carpet specialist said they should never have been fitted as the faults are clearly visible The fitters damaged the skirting of my newly fitted wardrobe and chipped the paintwork in my hall and bedroom There are also gripper scratches on the walls They offered to replace 2 carpets but with 50 being faulty and the damage i asked for a refund At this point i was told i was after FREE carpets by the manager My husband has been dealing with him for the last 12 months - yes 12 months promise of call backs and excuses We paid 2k in total and they finally refunded a pittance of 138 Avoid avoid avoid

Go elsewhere honestly the whole experience has been awful From taking the money for the original carpet before it was even checked that it was in stock Then having to change the carpet to receive one before Christmas to something that I didn t really want To then the carpet fitter coming out to fit the carpet and there wasn t enough carpet Caused by the guy that came out to measure the carpet at the beginning measuring completely wrong When the new carpet was re ordered their fitter couldn t fit the carpet before Christmas and there was no other fitter that they could find I very much doubt any effort was put into finding a carpet fitter I then had to spend a day ringing around to get a carpet fitter before Christmas which I managed to do When it came to delivering the carpet no underlay or grips were delivered which were paid for I had to contact them again to resolve this When it came to fitting my carpet on the 22nd December my carpet fitter explained to me there was not enough carpet for the rooms I wanted I saw this with my own eyes the carpet was laid out and measured in front of me and as it was a pattern it could not have been fitted any other way I called the office right away to be told that there was nothing that could be done now until January so I had no choice but to have my carpet fitters fit the carpet that they could as it was Christmas in a matter of days this leaving me one room short After chasing in January I am now told that there is nothing that can be done and that they have measured correctly and that it is my carpet fitters fault Hard to believe when they had measured it wrong in the first place don t you think I am now left with a room uncarpeted and hundreds of pounds out of pocket as I m having to find the exact same carpet obviously from another supplier No help from them no I am sorry for all the problems Nothing I would go elsewhere A solution could have been reached if customer service was important to them but I guess it is not Also this is the first review I have ever written this is how strongly I feel regarding my experience
