A lovely experience

We had a lovely scan today at jordmoderhuset They explained everytthing to us really well and went to a lot of effort to make sure we could see our little one It is a very comfortable place to be scanned

English birth preparation class

While there was a lot of information the class was very unstructured and 7 hours was too much time as much of that was wasted time For a class that cost more than 2000kr it was not professional the instructor s English was poor and she often forgot words and we couldn t follow what she was saying all of the time And the least she could have done was bring printed materials for each couple instead of sending by email especially for that price Finally the topics were repetitive and most disappointing was the lack of practicing breathing exercises She kept going back to talking about different positions in labor And only briefly for a minute mentioned how one breathes during the pushing phase because the question was raised in class We should have had more time to practice breathing for a paid class and she should have given time for couples to practice the different techniques for working through labor but she didn t have enough props to allow each couple one practice

Such a disappointment this time

I am usually very happy with all the services at Jordemoderhuset but today was such a disappointment I was 5 minutes late about which I called in advance but when I arrived the room was not prepared although the midwife was just sitting on a bench next to the receptionist looking at her phone It took almost 15 minutes to get everything ready incl getting towels and music from somewhere else so the massage first started 20 minutes past the start time She could have used at least the 5 minutes I was late to make the room ready The massage was ok but I got the feeling of a big hurry and thus had hard time to relax Finally she finished 5 minutes before the original time so that the massage lasted only 35 minutes instead of 60 min I had gotten one of the best massages ever the last time with another massage therapist at the same place who was not a midwife so I was really dissatisfied this time Can not recommend to take a pregnancy massage with a midwife here unless they have others - rather another therapist

Jordemoderhuset offers decent services overall Their birth preparation classes provided us with useful information and helped ease our concerns The physiotherapy sessions were quite pleasant and the atmosphere in the office is cozy The acupuncture was alright but required patience to see results Their team is caring and knowledgeable making it a generally positive experience While not extraordinary it s a good place to consider for various pregnancy-related services
