Incredibly poor after sales support Carbon monoxide alarm with a 7 year life allegedly supported by a warranty manufactured 28 Dec 2022 develops a fault in July 2024 Despite this being clearly printed on the device the manufacturer offers no support recompense as the receipt is no longer available

Got 2 fire Kidde extinguishers NO support
I purchased 2 fire Kidde fire extinguishers at Home Depot after the one I had for 10 years had moved from FULL to EMPTY I registered at Kidde com and ask support why the 2 I purchased showed the needle at the lower part of FULL next to EMPTY and if the 3 yr warranty would replace them if they fell into the EMPTY before it expired On March 4 Kidde support replied Thank you for contacting we will respond as soon as possible By March 25 NO ONE responded so I contacted them again Now it is April 10 and NO ONE has replied BAD customer service is often the death of a company Sad because a fire extinguisher offers peace of mind

False alarms are extremely common with their products It s nearly impossible to mute these things Very frustrating when it happens at 2am My 4 and 2 year old are traumatized from this and now have difficulty sleeping alone

We have very bad experience with the Kidde Fire Safety It s just 2 years we moved to a newly built home with new fire alarm and several time received false alarm from multiple systems and some of them got replaced The customer service was worse than the product it was the worst customer service call I ever had When asked for replacement according to the warranty was told they are not aware how long it will take for replacement Will not recommend this product

Terrible system
Terrible system The alarm keeps going off randomly and even if you press the hush button on the initiating unit like it says to do it still won t stop It is so loud and blinding with strobe light and when you have one unit going off but 20 others in the house large house and need to find the one that is causing a problem it s very stressful Kids cry when this thing goes off because it s so loud Someone we know fell down the stairs because she was so panicked and couldn t stop it DO NOT BUY THIS SMOKE OR CARBON MONOXIDE SYSTEM

We bought nine Kidde Firex smoke heat detectors for our large house That was six years ago Every single one of them has had to be replaced most of them more than once We still get innumerable false alarms to the point where we ve just had to disconnect them all with extreme prejudice Cheap build poor quality and unreliable - have nothing to do with this junk

Poor quality plastic -
Poor quality plastic - Fitted three Kidde alarms and they lookged great against my white ceilings for a short while but soon started to yellow badly They now look almost brown and disgusting I tried to let Kidde know about this but I was ignored - I suggest you try another company otherwise you too will end up with brown smoke alarms yuk

Customer service doesn t connect the dots
In my experience Kidde doesn t have a full grasp of customer service While they went through the motions they don t connect the dots I had a smoke CO2 detector that was ruined when some Kidde branded batteries that were powering the unit leaked I contacted Kidde provided the requested info and they indicated they would send a replacement Seemed like great customer service Well the replacement arrived and to replace the battery powered standalone unit they sent an AC powered interconnectable unit that has battery backup but isn t designed to be stand alone battery powered Customer service confirmed that the replacement needed to AC powered I now have a replacement which an electrician would be more happy to bill me for wiring and installation So much for customer service Adding insult to injury the replacement unit s reviews are mediocre at best - approximately half at 1 star and half at 5 star Doesn t inspire confidence

Do not trust this company
Do not trust this company Recalls false alarms in the middle of the night terrible customer support I have a box full of junk alarms from these people 3 different models They last about 6 months and then start triggering at random times often in the middle of the night I ve gone through at least one recall with them tried several different models and while some have been working solidly for years other units seem to fail quickly I reached out to their customer support line asking for advice and guidance and didn t even get a response For a safety-related product and company this is frankly scary

BUYER BEWARE 10 YEAR WARRANTY NOT HONOURED
BUYER BEWARE Kidde carbon monoxide detectors have failed after 3 years of use They were purchased as they have a 10 year warranty Kidde refusing to replace or accept any responsibility Stated they cannot be used in the kitchen As the majority of gas appliances are in the kitchen and the unit needs to be placed within a certain proximity to the appliance this makes them unfit for purpose
