I did this as a kid and want my kids to do as it helped me so much Such a great education provider

We are doing math Kumon now for just under a year and English for 6 months I was very concerned of my son s math understanding and after doing Explore learning for a year with no measurable improvement we moved to Kumon The Centre Manager Hedy is very approachable at all hours and very good at supporting at hurdles he experiences Math As others have reported it is very repetitive BUT I see his improvements and his confidence in numbers Starting at a lower point and progressing through the level is ensuring the child understand sequence of numbers and relationships of numbers This will not only help him in his academic future but also are skills for life that i am so pleased about English Following the improvements we saw in Math we decided to add English too Although he already was a confident reader his spelling as well as punctuation and grammar understanding was poor We are going through the levels and I can see within 6 months a vast improvement We spent usually for both subjects between 20- 35 min per day on it- 6 days a week When he is facing a challenging subject times can exceed but then we communicate with Hedy and she will start giving repetitions again until he is confident in solving Common complaint time and accuracy measures I very much support the this approach of Kumon Children will need to sit exams and will need to get used to be able to operate under time pressure and produce results Kumon is teaching this to them If any criticism i would say the centre can be very loud and distracting while the children sit their weekly assessments but again i think children need to learn to be able to focus and complete their work no matter what is happening around them Overall I cannot rate the Kumon Centre at Borehamwood with Hedy high enough

I am currently in year 5 and my instructor has said that I am doing year 7 or 8 work which is incredible I am 2 or 3 years ahead of my peers

I ve been doing Kumon since I was 4 years old Now I am preparing for my GCSEs A lot of parents say their kids hate the program because its boring and repetitive and they quit in the first year or so I ve been doing Kumon for 11 years now and looking back i find that Yes it does get hard and boring sometimes you don t want to do it and parents feel that they are wasting their money Honestly you are not From the perspective of a person who has completed the English Program and going through the Maths Kumon over the years has saved me over 45 minutes in my mock exams That might not seem much but it is an incredibly valuable amount of time to save Whats more the questions and problems I solved in this small amount of time were all correct I got 96 on that non-Calculator exam and that is what Kumon does for you It encourages you mind engrains those neural pathways into you so those maths skills will stay with you for a long period You are not wasting your time with kumon Yes you need to persevere yes you need to encourage yourself and or your child but trust me it is worth it Kumon also teaches your child to never give up to develop a strong work ethic although it might not show up in a month You just need to work hard I will not have been where I am now without it and now in school I am done with a question in 30 seconds while it takes my peers 10 minutes Parents you are not wasting your time

My 8 and 10 year olds have been attending Kumon Corby for nearly 2 years now Both are now studying the Maths and English My youngest daughter was struggling to read when she first started she was given one to one sessions until she felt confident enough to study on her own Her reading has improved massively and now she begs for me to take her to the library My eldest daughter hated Maths she refused to answer questions in class because she was worried she would get the answer wrong Now she is top of the class and ends up helping her friends if they get stuck Adam the Corby Manager is extremely helpful He answers all questions really quickly If we feel like there are two many sheets to answer and I can see one of my daughters struggling I speak to Adam He adjusts the sheets for the following week and also chats with them to make sure they feel ok about it all Yes the packets can be repetitive but that s kind of the point Once they are answering the packet in a good amount of time with low errors they get to move on Yes it s hard for the parents as we have to mark the sheets I m marking 4 a night and then have to mark the corrections However I want my children to feel confident and proud of themselves when they can see that something that was hard 2 months ago is now easy and that s because they put the work in It s a great lesson for their future life I think

Kumon Battersea is an excellent tutoring centre with staff who are clearly motivated in their students achieving the most out of their study My son has been attending this centre since after lockdown which left a big void in his academic studies and I have been very pleased with the tutor who has been very thorough with his structure of study easy to communicate with and has provided consistent updates in regards to his progress My son is now working ahead of his school year level through making massive improvements in his maths and English which has really boosted his confidence in school Kumon has helped fill the void left after lockdown which the school was unable to do I would highly recommend Kumon and it s definitely not a waste of money - from my experience I believe it comes down to how you as a parent understand this method of learning and create the discipline environment and structure at home for your child to flourish with it Thank you Kumon

I was initially hesitant with Kumon after reading so many negative reviews online but having tried other tuition providers which I was not happy with I decided to take the Kumon 2 week free trial in March this year Both my boys are still doing their Kumon and I can honestly say the results have been incredible We started with just maths and then added the English programme in July as Kumon really got my boys into a good structured study routine so it was easy to get them to take on a bit more The programmes and method of learning is very clever yes there is some repetition given especially in maths but I can see the benefit as it has really improved their speed and mental calculations Mr Khan and his team at the Battersea Kumon have been nothing short of amazing in how child centric they are and they really want their students to do well

After just a few weeks of tutoring with Kyra we are seeing improvement in my daughter s mathematics and problem solving and she really looks forward to the sessions Highly recommend
