Car should never have been released Obviously never tested Lotus is faithful to it kitcar roots Elise Alternators burns out every 6 months as it can t take heat of mid engine placements Radiator too small so car always overheated Seriously underengineered and overratedBefore this I had an Espirit and it truly was garbage The glovebox was made from cardboard Now Lotus trying to sell me their Emira Over my dead body That Lotus can t afford to develop their own but has to use a modified Toyota Merc engine should tell u more than u need to know about the engineering quality Do yourself a favour and buy a BRZ GR86 or the next MX-5The BRZ Gr86 is the Exclat Lotus could never build The Mx-5 is the Elan Lotus couldn t Both come without bits falling off Aircon Heating that works sensibly priced easy to find parts and frankly real world suspension steering far superior to lotus Lotus is testament to the British motorcar industry failure Buy it if you like suffering frustration as for myself- the best thing I did was bin the Elise trade up to a BRZ

Absolutely shocking customer service
Absolutely shocking customer service I paid a deposit on an Eletra in May 2022 I specked the car in January 2023 with the view of being delivered in June 2023 June became a November when I finalised the order ever since customer services where avoiding me until I got in touch with their head of communication only to find out that they sold my car to another customer 18 months later they have now paid me my deposit back they can only say it was an error

I own a Lotus Emira which was bought
I own a Lotus Emira which was bought from a Lotus dealer pre-registered and the car service were fantastic However When I tried to buy a new in stock Eletre from Lotus direct it was a different story You can only complete a purchase online and their web based ordering software is so flawed that it wouldn t allow me to buy it It was a business purchase for cash No finance required which Lotus s computer system couldn t equate and insisted on sending me a dozen finance quotes I spoke to customer services 10 times and although they were all very polite they were completely clueless kids not sales people One even asked me what sized engine was in the car which is 100 electric In the end I cancelled the order and asked for my deposit back and surprisingly they didn t attempt to sort it out once and for all and save the deal This is obviously what happens when you cut out a dealer network and try and leave everything to computers and in-experienced staff This company will fail unless they improve the sales experience which let s face it should be much better when spending 100k on a car Now bought a hybrid RR Sport instead

The dealer was great - lotus are shocking
The dealer was great Lotus themselves are shocking This is directed at the company not the dealer bought and Eletre and then had to deal with children that didn t have a clue what they are doing Over 130k car and they were just stupid The ordering system was diabolical and I even tried to cancel the order it was that bad Now we have the car and nothing works properly It s not a finished car The sat nav won t work as it s not set up right the electrics are just odd and keep shutting off I don t expect this to be actioned by them as they are truly a bunch of children trying to play where Porsche are just brilliant Think very carefully before you buy it is not as good as established brands they are kids playing at being adults

Lotus Electre 148k treated like scum The car charges on a 7kw charger at 14mph when all other cars charge at 25-30 3 pin charges also do not work - spent 3 months talking to Lotus and they say that no issues and this is acceptable to them I cant take the car away to remote place and use 3 pin nor can I get to and from work and charge at home it is now a pointless car that has been miss sold Warning to all - do not buy one - The value at a trade in after 3 months has lost 55k yes 55k -Oh and the dealer technician reversed into a post causing over 30k damage and I have to wait for repairs and have a devalued car even further - Worst car experience in 30 years

Give me my money back
Purchased a demo Emira from Lotus Birmingham within two weeks tyre pressure sensors faulty wipers stopped working engine management light permanently on all fixed Then heater failed fitted new unit didn t tighten hoses lost all coolant 4 weeks laterBoth footwells full of water repaired bodged Three weeks later trim falling off and footwell full of water They ve now had my car for another four weeks and still not fixed told them I want my money back Offered me an extra years warranty as compensation Now offering a replacement vehicle Why would I want another Just give me my bloody money backAbsolutely bloody terrible cars service and customer careAVOID at all costs

Dreadful Customer Service
Time was when you could run your classic Lotus up to Hethel for restoration a service that no longer seems to exist - having called the factory number I was then offered a choice of 5 options before being put through to someone in customer service who was truly as thick as mince and didn t even seem to understand what car trimming meant - it is notable how levels of personal service have nosedived since Geely bought the company from Proton as the reviews for Lotus Cars seem to be uniformly awful not that the present management seem to care

Worst Ever Experience With Lotus Cars
The ordering of my Emira I4 Turbocharged car was all completed online using the configurator Given the lack of dealer contact I was not given the opportunity to physically see important details such as actual colours of both interior and exterior Customer services were of little help and every customer service agent gave different information Promises to call or email back were always unfulfilled In essence I bought the car blind with no helpful human input and unfortunately the scripts read by the customer service agents were unhelpful to say the least In short the online configurator was not fit for purpose since the rendering of the initial six colours was very misleading and did not bear an accurate resemblance to the actual car I subsequently collected It s extremely disappointing The above is a snapshot of my experiences ordering my vehicle and there are many more poor examples of my customer experience For such a relatively premium vehicle the whole experience was very stressful There was nobody to go to for follow up queries Customer services were beyond useless manned by a bunch of amateurs and there was no dealer point of contact To be honest I received a better experience when I bought a Citroen C1 from a Citroen dealer Lotus Cars don t deserve even one star for their poor customer services

Please do not advertise 48 hour test drives when your dealers cannot fulfil the offer Was advised I could book an approximate one hour test drive Called in at the Bradford dealership to a totally empty showroom Does not fill me with enthusiasm for purchasing such a supposedly prestigious car Think I ll stick with Porsche Lotus Get your act together
