Terrible Drinks at the bar

We had 2 chilly Margaritas at the bar and they were very poor amateurish at best it felt like some old tequila mixed with some old flat fruit juice Presentation was poor with the drink being spilled and the glass sticky and frankly a bit dirty too When we informed the waitress who must be said was very polite she said she took off 10 from the bill and we still had to pay 25 Total rip off Unfortunately this isn t the first time we were disappointed by the drinks at the bar We also had some beers and they were weak flat and tasteless Never again

Absolutely not worth the money - terrible experience

Normally we stay at a cheap chain hotel for work but thought we d splash out and stay in a nice hotel as a one-off worst decision The check-in took 10 minutes because they couldn t figure out how to print the form for me to sign they took a 50 security deposit which I can t see was mentioned anywhere when I booked online or in my confirmation emails our shower was completely blocked so our bathroom floor flooded and soaked our clothes it took 30 minutes for the maintenance guy to come fix it even though it was close to our check-out time luckily we d paid extra to stay an extra hour the guy at the front desk who called maintenance gave no time-line for how long we d be waiting cleaning staff came to see if we d checked out at 12pm even though we d paid to stay until 1pm and it s been a week already and we haven t received the 50 security deposit back yet in our account Absolute shambles and couldn t possibly recommend Mama Shelter any less

I got a discount code to subscribe to discounted drinks and stays etc Impossible to cancel to trial membership They advertised that and don t even tell you you will be signed up for a year This is the biggest scam I have experienced It is a complete disgrace

C est Magnifique

C est Magnifique OK I travelled over to Toulouse last weekend with Billy a good buddy of mine and a few hundred Munster supporters Considering we lost the match it could be said that the Mamashelter experience was the highlight of the weekend Starting at the beginning Billy and I found the restaurant by accident but mais oui we will be looking for it next time we re in Toulouse As we didn t have a booking we were asked if we would mind taking two stools at the counter beside the kitchen food prep area To be honest - for two guys that love their food we couldn t have asked for better seats Alors The two Chefs were amazing to watch in action One of the guys was more junior than the other and the mentoring that was offered was purely impeccable Sir the student has a dedicated master and was learning from a pro Billy and I had a beer each while waiting to order The order was a charcuterie board shared and a very decent sized prime rib of beef This of course had to be accompanied by a lovely bottle of Malbec and a bottle of sparkling water Tres tres bien The charcuterie was absolutely divine Perfect mix of meats and cheese and for some extremely strange reason it appeared that slices of plain ham were possibly the coldest slices of ham I ve ever had a charcuterie that offers amazing tastes but also differing temperatures is a Coup de Foudre Then again so was the main course Ou la la Monsieur Prime indeed Billy likes his steak rare I m more medium rare so when we placed the order we said we d like to have it whichever way the chef likes to prepare it I guess the Chef likes to prepare it to Perfection Accompanying the steak was perfectly seasoned fries and a salad that was way better dressed than me Irrespective of how amazing the steak was and it was tres superb my highlight had to be the Forgotten Vegetables Who would have thought that roasted beetroot wonderfully caramelised shallots and some flavour busting butternut squash could bring so much joy These vegetables should never be forgotten - they should be shown shallota love We didn t have room for desert so finished off the meal with two coffees With food and wine as good as it was The service had some competition The service was absolutely amazing too Amazingly the restaurant itself actually trumps both the food and service Admittedly we didn t really notice how amazing the restaurant was until we finished the dinner The whole history of Toulouse is literally chalked on the ceiling of the restaurant The general manager gave me a complimentary art history lesson and the story of the technique used is outstanding I ll not ruin the surprise Review is definitely 5 stars - I only hope the 20 tip did it justice Alas That s not all My dear wife and three amazing daughters were at home in Dublin while I was on a three day rugby junket Mamashelter also caters for gifts to be brought home I gladly called over to the gift shop later on Saturday night T-shirts saying Mamas Gang for each of the kids and a water bottle saying Mama for the best wife and Mum in the world Thank you so much for your hospitality and service And your much appreciated presents home Five stars indeed C est Magnifique Merci Beacoup Kevin

REALLY REALLY REALLY STUNNING

I don t have any negatives for the stay at MamaShelter apart from not staying for longer As soon as you walk near to the hotel your presented with luxe and a warm inviting feeling This feeling continues as you walk in and greeted by the reception team The furnishings surroundings quirks and service is top notch and after being there for 3 days I did not want to leave The price for food and cocktails in the restaurant was very good considering the menu offering It was very much a la carte and everything we had was delicious Popcorn chicken is the bomb The room we had was big and as we brought our pooch she had her own bed too We have found our forever hotel when visiting London and already planning our next visit to this glorious hotel Big should out to the team especially Bam What a lovely person there was another lady that worked with her that was lovely Leo too was really nice and even the security staff were nice 10s 10s 10s across the board Visit my instagram for some pictures martinjgirtley
