Disappointing Experience with Damaged Equipment

I ordered a professional video lighting kit from Martcom last month and was initially excited about their competitive pricing. However, my experience has been quite disappointing. The equipment arrived with visible damage to the case, and two of the lights had scratches and minor dents affecting their functionality. When I contacted customer support about the issue, the response time was slow - it took nearly five days to receive an initial reply. The representative offered only a partial refund instead of a full replacement, which was frustrating considering I needed the equipment for an upcoming project. The refund process itself was convoluted, requiring multiple back-and-forth emails. While I appreciate their extensive product selection and some competitive prices, the quality control during shipping needs significant improvement. The packaging didn't adequately protect professional equipment, and the customer service recovery was inadequate for the price point I paid. Other retailers I've worked with handle damage claims much more efficiently and offer straightforward replacements. The website interface is user-friendly and browsing is easy, but these positives don't outweigh the disappointing fulfillment experience. I would be hesitant to order from Martcom again unless they significantly improve their packaging and customer service response protocols. There are better alternatives for audio and video equipment that prioritize quality assurance and customer satisfaction more effectively.
