SCAM Only they want to take money
Total Scam This insurance company will take your money and then come up with excuses to avoid paying out They claim there s a waiting period which was never mentioned anywhere They also deny claims based on pre-existing conditions a conclusion they seem to make just to get out of paying Now I m stuck paying 11 000 AED out of my own pocket Never ever go with this company Don t let big corporations steal your money If you want more info feel free to contact me My name is Mireia Lalaguna and I will do everything I can to stop people from being scammed by companies playing with our emotions and the love we have for our animals

Stay away from MetLife dog insurance
We first signed up with MetLife on December 29 2022 for a pet insurance policy with 100 coverage and a 200 annual deductible The monthly premium was quoted at 65 36 Our dog a Great Dane mix had just turned one on October 31 2022 and had no pre-existing conditions at the time When it came time to renew the policy on December 29 2023 the coverage remained the same but the premium increased to 90 30 month a 38 hike When I reached out to MetLife I was told the increase was due to rising veterinary costs in our area We accepted the new rate and moved on However on November 23 2024 I received an email stating our policy would renew again on December 29 2024 this time with a new premium of 182 20 month That s a 100 17 increase from the 90 30 month we were paying just one year ago I called MetLife on November 24 2024 to ask about the drastic rate hike I spoke to two representatives The first couldn t explain which factor contributed to the 100 17 increase while the second claimed the hike was due to our dog s age he turned 3 years old on October 31 2024 They also mentioned that location and breed could affect rates but neither could provide specific details on how these factors applied to our situation In the end the decision is yours but based on these facts I would not recommend MetLife dog insurance to anyone

Long wait time for reimbursement
This company takes SO LONG to reimburse claims If your vet s notes are not written in a dummy proof way where each element of the SOAP subjective objective assessment plan is listed implicitly the claim review team can t seem to figure it out I am waiting on about 2000 worth of reimbursement and have been for 3 weeks I have resubmitted notes as requested and have gotten zero progress on my claim They won t even pay out if you go to your primary vet for a new issue Only seem to pay out for specialists if you have the accident and emergency plan like I do And I pay 156 a month for the pleasure of this frustration

Don t waste your money
Paid for a policy for the whole year thinking it would be a good idea to have on both animals Come to find out If your animal gets sick within 14 days of the policy you re SOL and if there s any follow up appointments needed it s considered a pre-existing condition MetLife is an absolute SCAM The only reason they deserve a single star is because of their professional customer service representatives

Worst pet insurance out there
Five years ago my dog had a right front leg strain they are saying because his back leg is bothering him five years later that that is all related So they do not cover any chiropractic at all Stating the front leg is connected to the back I guess So if your dog has a strain or anything they call that a pre-existing condition

Please Look Elsewhere
Recently got pet insurance for both of my dogs thinking it would be a nice thing to have My dog spent a few days vomiting and pooping before we were able to get her into the vet Metlife wouldn t cover a dime as she lost a few pounds while she was puking pooping and hardly eating or drinking anything as it was deemed preexisting Only to stumble upon these abysmal reviews So far would highly recommend looking elsewhere

Do not waste your money
It has been a horrible experience I had purchased wellness with Inc coverage All annual shots or doctor visits aren t covered until you meet the deductible The experience and service has also be terrible I have tried submitting multiple claim even meeting the deductible and they will not pay a cent back I keep on getting that they don t have enough information I have submitted multiple SOAPs doctors notes on the visits and it is still not enough For the cost of insurance I could have paid my vet bill 3 times over It is not worth the cost They don t answer their phones When they do they just say submit more information which never seems enough to get payment So the cost I have paid and the vet bills just aren t worth it I strongly recommend that you don t use MetLIfe Pet insurance
