They try to scammed me

They try to scammed me They did not accepted my documents as valid because apparently both documents valid passport id and valid driving licence need to be from the same country Under that excuse they tried to charged me 150 pounds to waive that issue Also next to me I could spot 2 unhappy clients complaining about other issues I dont think this is a coincidence and it is just part of trying to overcharge customers for any excuse At the end I crossed the street and went to Avis who provided me with top service at a reasonable cost and witout delays

Never use Mex rent a car

Rented car 4 months in advance received multiple email reminders re booking Arrived Cancun airport late at night to be told no cars available Nothing next day Said sorry but did not care that no car meant we could not get to our Hotel in Bacalar Definitely the worse car rental experience of our life

THIEVES CONMEN AND EXTORTIONISTS DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND STAY AS FAR AWAY AS YOU CAN FROM THESE THIEVES Worst car rental company in all of my travels throughout the world MEXtortion Car Rental deserves less than a 1 rating but app did not allow for that so they got an undue benefit I timely arrived to the Monterrey airport on January 4th 2024 to pick up my 5 day pre-paid vehicle for which i had already purchased the extra optional car waiver insurance for any damages to the vehicle Upon arrival the man at the counter informed me that the insurance i had purchased was worthless and he had to add his insurance at 55 00 dollars per day to protect the car or else i would have to leave a 2 700 00 dollar deposit I refused to give in to this extortion and after a brief discussion i informed him to just cancel my reservation The agent a Mexican Man smirked as he agreed to cancel the rental However i learned later that MEXtortion refuses to return my payment and they insist on keeping the fully pre-paid rental fee despite the crook at the counter having agreed to cancel the contract and me leaving without a car I contacted HOTELS COM with whom i had dealt with for many years and was disgusted to learn that despite them promoting MEXtortion Car Rental company as a vendor they did not have sufficient clout to have them return the funds in spite of the breached agreement in which they attempted to change the terms as i picked up the vehicle l have asked my credit card company to dispute and not pay for the charge and they have done so Despite being a Platinum Member with HOTELS COM I have canceled my account with them and will never give my business to this spineless company who sent me to this worthless vendor and did not have the clout to correct this wrong Also i would rather ride a lame donkey around Mexico than ever rent a car from MEXtortion Car Rental

If I could give a zero star I would What a scam We waited 2 hours in line only to be turned away because we missed our time window This was happening to more people then got cars You had to pay for their high price insurance I asked for the managers name and he wouldn t give me his last name So many unhappy people at this place I really felt sorry everyone there Don t even bother with this business

Mex rental must be investigated by the FBI and shut down SCAM company Counter employees at miami airport location are in on the SCAM stealing money denying services to force upsells Gay guy with 2 earring on right ear was denying rentals and stealing from everyone that went to his counter I can t give you what you already paid for because we don t have the vehicle but I can get you a smaller car for an extra 20 per day plus 20 per day for insurance Yes added to what you already paid That guy and the Mexican looking girl next to him should be fired for what they re doing Some tourist were forced to overpay or else they would ve been stranded in a foreign country to them

Scam company - needs to be shut down

This is a scam company and is not actually at Tampa airport Read the yelp and Google reviews The star rating on Priceline is a lie Don t believe the slightly lower prices after all the scam fees on tolls insurance age Florida drivers license pretending the car you booked on Priceline has been given away and you need to upgrade to a more expensive car - you will be paying more than a legit company Just rent at one of the many companies that are actually in the airport and save money and your valuable vacation time

SCAM TOURIST TRAP BE WARNED

There are several bad reviews here and in other places These guys run a scam Quite simply it goes like this you book a car online through whatever online agency you use that has the minimum CDW etc When you reach your destination to collect your car they say that it s not valid because the CDW amount of your agency is not enough Then you have the choice of not taking the car or paying the CDW which is 120 of what you paid already Why do they accept a book of an agency that does not cover their CDW required amount I am sure its because they want to charge you their premium insurance Also the car was S t noisy smelly no BT and radio These guys act with bad faith only to take your money It s a dirty business tactic to use tourists Avoid at all costs

HORRIBLE

HORRIBLE You get to the office and there are no cars even if you had booked months ago they don t give solutions We are trying to have a refund but nobody seems to care

DO NOT rent car from a the MEX Car Rental company I was misled by an article online saying how good it is to rent a car at Cancun airport by making a reservation with discovercar com and purchased the full coverage insurance After arrived at the desk I was denied to pickup the car because I was coerced to buy the collision insurance In the end I had to give up my reservation and throw away all the money I have paid through discovercar com I had never had such terrible experience like this before Please don t rent any car with MEX Car Rental and don t use discoverca com either

TOTAL SCAM STAY AWAY you prepaid online for zero-deductible You think they cannot charge you more forget it all of a sudden there is this non existing extra obligatory insurance that costs more than what you paid for the car and all insurance combined online They do this all the time If you don t pay no car lose what you already paid prior to arriving so they know they can steal your money this way you want to start your vacation NEVER AGAIN BAD PEOPLE ps check google reviews they do this all the time it will happen to you too you are warned
