Nox sensor repair
Had an orange engine light com on in November 2022 on my June 2018 Mercedes C200D estate booked the car in for a diagnostic check which had a waiting list of 6 weeks however the light went out before it was due in it was agreed to cancel and see what happens Light came on again in March 2023 again booked in again light went out agreed to cancel diagnostic check this happened a few times so eventually booked in for diagnostic check for September 2023 as there normally a 5 6 week waiting time for this service I had this orange engine light come on in 2021 the fault was a Nox sensor which is a well documented problem with mercedes diesel s this was replaced as a good will gesture as the 2 year warranty was up the light had stayed on then This time I was told it was the upstream sensor that was gone and the cost would be 1125 they did not apply for a good will gesture I contacted MDL who told me it was up to dealer to apply for good will and it has not been applied for according to their records I rang the service manager but did not get to talk with him and he never returned my call I left the car on on Tuesday 12th for diagnostic check which I knew would be a Nox sensor as told the service agent that on dropping the car off got a call at 17 00 hours on the Tuesday to tell me it was up stream nox gone and asked for go ahead for repair as cost be 1125 which I did was told car be ready on Thursday 14th Phoned on Thursday 14 th to see when car be ready but personal dealing with me was not available got a call late afternoon to tell me car not ready as wrong part supplied however the correct part be in at 9 am on Friday 15th phoned on Friday at 12 nobody available to confirm details on the car would call me back phoned again at 2pm told nobody available again phoned at 2 30 this time I was told part had not arrived and expected it soon was given option if it did not arrive I could take the car back and it safe to use Part did arrive told to collect car at 5pm which I did was given invoice on one hard and credit card machine on other hand Overall communication was very poor no interest in trying to get good will from Mercedes AG as more interested in customer paying for a well documented fault in mercedes diesel Nox sensor s which they were covering as good will for a period of time Would expect better service from a premium brand dealer as the car had low mileage and was always serviced at MSL Diagnostic check had increased from 350 in November 2022 to 429 in September 2023 so servicing is expensive compared to other premium brand cars I had in the past

I will never use MSL North Circular road again
I had a problem with the controls on the dashboard of my VW Scirocco two years ago I paid MSL North Circular road a good chunk of money to fix this problem They returned my car with some of the controls still not working and then said it had nothing to do with the fix and that they would need to run diagnostics on the other controls to source the problem I had explained initially exactly which controls were not working so they would know exactly what they were to fix I felt like it was just a money making exercise trying to get me to part with more money for a job half done They never fixed the entire problem and denied that it was part of the initial fix I then rang them last September about turning the tyre pressure light off at a service I had scheduled They said they would They didnt do it citing that I needed a new tyre and that the guy who usually resets the switch wasnt there that day They were trying to sell me a tyre and wanted me to come back to their garage and they were also telling me I could buy insurance on the tyre I bought the tyre elsewhere as a local garage was handier to get to and I didnt need to wait for an appointment leave my car there for most of the day and make a trip back again They just needed to tell me where the switch was to turn off the tyre pressure light I had been lead to believe on a previous visit when I first bought the Scirocco that the switch was turned off by configuration software in the garage I rang them Friday asking them to turn the light off for me as I had an NCT on Saturday The receptionist told me they were too busy which is fair enough as I didnt give much notice but they hadn t reset the switch like they said they would last September so I thought they should oblige as it wouldnt take long So I had the email of the manager in the service department and emailed him He told me I had a list of items that needed to be fixed on my car I told him the list of items had nothing to do with the typre pressure reset switch and that they should have reset it last September I told him I had replaced the tyre with a local garage and he told me to go back to the garage where I bought the tyre and get them to reset it I told him still believing the story about the configuration software that only a VW garage could reset it as it needed to be configured He was extremely unhelpful and again said to me about coming in to run diagnostics on the tyre pressure lighting system if there was a problem with it I text a mechanic I know and asked him about the tyre pressure light thinking he might have configuration software in his garage and he told me that it is reset manually So I looked on Youtube and saw that the switch is in the glove compartment and it takes about 5 seconds to reset So this service manager in MSL could have just told me this instead of all the stress of exchanging frustrated emails and phone calls I have been a loyal customer with this garage since 2012 but will never use this garage again

This is a seriously Bad company People need to be aware of the fact they pursue profit at all costs Having been a loyal customer of MSL and their sister company MDL since 2007 I tried to arrange my final retirement car through one of their branches MSL Deans Grange My experience was Horrendous I ordered my car from a salesman who was recommended to me by my niece In Feb 2022 I negotiated a deal He guaranteed the Cost to Change against my existing car I agreed and built the car from scratch with the provided Configurator All was ok from Feb 22 to June 22 I arranged finance and prepared for delivery of the new car The car was supposed to be on the road for 01 July 2022 I was left waiting until I eventually got the salesman who apologised as he was on holidays and couldn t let me know beforehand that the new car was Blocked and couldn t say when it would arrive October 22 I actually got a phone call from the salesman to inform me the cost of the car will increase possibly by 20 16K I rejected this increase End part 1 part two to follow Part 2 of 2 Late October 2022 I received a phone call from the salesman telling me the cost to change to me is now only 5 5K and I could check the Mercedes Configurator to confirm I did and to the best of my ability I could only see an increase of 1795 for identical configuration I emailed the salesman Manager MDL and ask d where 5 5K increase came from as I found only a 1795 increase on MDL Configurator He called me by phone to apologise his mistake it should have been 3995 Broke down it included 1600 delivery which was included in the original negotiated price in Feb 2022 He advised me that that s the price and basically if I didn t accept it my deposit would be refunded immediately Needless to say I was disappointed disgusted and felt a serious lack of goodwill This deal broke me a person who s waited since Feb 22 to be told in Oct 22 stump up 3995 like it or lump it also the value of my trade it car would be re- valued for 2023 leading me to believe it would be an extra cost to me Life lessonI ve bought Mercedes brand new as a private buyer since 2007 Four Mercedes later I ve found there s absolutely no value in paying a premium for this so-called premium brand Gazumping has truly arrived in Irelands New Car buying market Buyer Beware group-behind-mercedes-in-ireland-paid-1-8m-dividend-after-getting-covid-subsidy You cant even trust Trust pilot

Purchased E 220 from msl n Dublin 48 000 euro 2019 car have done 12000 km on car looking at 2000 euro brake job with I complained about 2 days after purchase first series refued to change now warty is up they want to change milage different on paperwork so 5000 km more on car than I thought when buying told brakes where done when I bought car no such thing 12000km 2000 for brakes on e class very bad service

Had my car for a week and confirmed by email and telephone conversation that the work had been completed Told me the part that was replaced was available for me to look at as requested Arrived to pick the car up and was told that none of the work had been done by Louise the service manager She told me that because the fault light had gone off there was no way of knowing what the problem was They gave me back the car in limp mode and told me to drive it until the engine light came back on then bring it back Plain stupid advise Limp mode is when the cars engine management system reduces the power to ensure that the fault doesn t cause damage while you drive slowly to your destination Driving the car like this would likely cause more damage These people are a disgrace dishonest and have no morals Save yourself the trouble and stay away from them The coffee machine in the reception gets better attention from the staff When you walk in to their building on Pottery Road Deansgrange the reception staff walk away from the desk pretending not to see you You ll never have the same person deal with you twice That s a sign of a high turnover of employees People don t last long enough to gain proper experience As for the suggestion that they wanted a mechanic to take my car home for a test drive to confirm it was in limp mode a shaved monkey could figure that out driving the car from the carpark to the workshop I also noticed that their staff drive in to the carpark like its Mondelo race track Probably testing customers cars or late for work again
