Non-existent customer service
This has to be one of the worst companies on the planet I raised a query in April but despite many emails to their - inappropriately named - customer care - team no susbstantive response has been received The latest response showed a non-existent understanding of the issue In desperation I emailed the CEO who did not even acknowledge my message That says all one needs to know about MTN s attitude to its customers I will be transferring mobile accounts and internet provision elsewhere Suggest you avoid MTN

2 contract on my name now and no phone or sims
I was de ed by MTNs sellers there is a debit order loaded on my account for R3265 75 for 2 contracts I DONT HAVE ONE PHONE OR CONTRACT My sister took the phone out for me on her name to help me and now she is sitting with this issues and its affecting her credit record the lady at MTN Cradlestone tried to assist end of September to cancel the contracts but there was no luck I ordered a Samsung ZFlip on contract on 12 September on MTN website The applocation was approved A week later they delivered a Z fold i took it to MTN Cradlestone and returned it The went rhroigh the process ro check it back into warehouse but they werenr able to camcel the contract I had to phone different numbera and no one could assist I hade to call RewardsCo tjey said the contract was done by Foursquare I contacted Foursquare gave them the IRS number they couldnt cancel it And informed me there was one contract witu device on my name and one sim only contact This was all done in the 7 day cooling off period The guy who called me for the debi check mandate told me the first contract was cancelled and and i need to approve a second debi chevk because it was cancelled how is this possible he de ed me by adding a second contract Now i have somerhing obln my name that I dont have and they want to debit my account and there is no way to cancel them I told MTN thos and they said I must open a case but first send a affadavid to department what They cant investigate This is seriously disgusting service The sim cards are frozen as but they want to debit my account

In August 2024 I made a payment
In August 2024 I made a payment arrangement with the lady by the name of Lisa at the Legal department and advised me that the arrangement will be paid in 3 installments only to find out today that she didn t capture the arrangement while a paid the amount given and now my number has been suspended The respond I was given was to go and complain at the mtn store while the arrangement was made telephonically with one of the agent at the Legal department Or it is a way that mtn is training their consultants to rip people off their monies is it fair The level of incompetence from their consultants it is so bad

MTN staff has not been trained they can t give solutions or think logical All they can do is copy and paste
Dear MTN30 10 2024 the first email that was send to MTN was on the 8 10 2024 and still no solution only copy paste answers No one is giving me an answer on how I can get my number back I clearly stated that I know that my number is not on the MTN network and that I have been cut off You don t need to tell me this 100 times I clearly stated that it was MTN s fault in the first place that I could not use my phone on my travels and therefore an inactive line What can I do to HELP MTN to get my number back 1 affidavit from Police station2 Letter from my lawyer3 Proof that the number was mine in the form off text messages4 Proof of ID5 Vodacom I am still also waiting on PROOF from MTN that I was indeed warned that my number will be cut off If my number was indeed recycled without my knowledge this means someone else got my banking informationand this my dear MTN is against the law South Africa is losing billions because of companies like you Big countries don t want to do business with us because of the poor service you offer MTN you should be ashamed Regards

The debit order I canceled prior to the debit order So I decide to pay my debit order with my different bank account because I don t want to have negative on my original account Now I pay my debit order with my different account everything seem good the following day the debit from MTN takes their money from my original bank account now it looks I pay twice right I m asking a refund for the one I paid now they tell me they can t help me and their customer service are terrible they want me to send my proof of account and they don t get back to me and when I call them they don t answer my questions and they want me to restart the process MTN is the worst

Goodness me - 3 months back MTN South Africa - incorrectly zapped on an additional debit to my account which on querying they admitted was a System Error - have been unsuccessful in trying to have this credit appear on my account - after 6 telephone calls and 4 e mails over the last 3 months Highly unprofessional and disorganised mess Am amazed at the uncaring attitude displayed after being connected to this company for just on 3 decades So strange experiencing this situation with such a prominent service provide Have now accordingly closed account with MTN SA

I bought a Wi-Fi Router
I bought a Wi-Fi Router delivery was quick but after delivery everything went sideways They debited me 3 times in the same month iI bought the router in and when you query customer service takes 3 days to get back to you and you get assisted by different people who they themselves don t know what they are doing Today the router doesn t work which means I paid for a full month for 10 days of service make it make sense You can t even get through to any of their agents on the 136 135 numbers

Ordered an LTE data sim card and router
Ordered an LTE data sim card and router online paid pro-rata and next months fee When they wanted to deliver router they wanted bio-metrics which was not mentioned during sales call I refused to provide bio-metrics to deliver a pre-paid service and do not trust them to hold such sensitive information I then cancelled with the customer service dept which had taken over a month so far not finalised yet to acknowledge and try refund the money still waiting The courier company still phoning me to deliver router wow They definitely have huge gaps in providing a service and just basically think through alternative paths to resolve issues other than sales which their process only caters for Would not suggest dealing with them directly if you want the frustration go through another ISP that can provide the same data service

MTN has disappointed me
MTN has disappointed me after being their loyal customer for quite some time I have a data sim card contract with them and last month I received data but couldn t have access to the loaded data because the sim card has no interest access I tried to call customer agents so as to solve the issue they were defeated They even suggested that since they can t solve the issue I must go to MTN direct store in Sandton I ve done that and there was no sufficient help They suggested that I must go to the store in Morningside where I can find a technician I went there and found no help up until this date As we speak they have they have billed me for the data that I didn t have access to and I highly doubt that I signed up for that one I even suggested that they should cancel the contract because they can t seem to find the solution around the problem as I won t pay for data I didn t have access to They didn t do that They said I must settle the outstanding balance and pay the cancelation fee of which I won t do that because if the sim had no network issues I wouldn t have opted to cancel the contract I m so frustrated because my life is stuck and this will ruin my credit score if they don t resolve the issue or if the issue seem to be unresolved they cancel the contract once
