TLDR I think this is a recruiter who wants to sell by strongly recommending financial courses in excess of 899
They may book you in for an interview and then ask you legitimate questions on behalf of a company that is interested in you They did not disclose the identity of that company to me because of contractual obligations The interview process may mimic a real-life interview For instance with me they began with questions like why a career in finance then moved onto behavioural questions like 1 Tell us about a time you had to overcome difficulty 2 Describe when you had to work until a tight deadline and lastly they asked me how I would add value to the company At this point I asked again if I could know the name of the company to which the recruiter responded no I was suggested to give a generic answer to this question Afterwards they may pretend they are putting you on hold while they are discussing your applications with their manager as if 5 minutes are enough to discuss your application and then decide if you would want to progress further or not Throughout the interview they told me that I gave an excellent answer even if the answer was unstructured I think this was just to keep me motivated to stay on the call Then they may tell you how you have a really strong application but you need an x license - in my case some FCA or regulatory license Afterwards they claimed that luckily the firm would not be doing interviews for the next 4-6 weeks and in the meantime I could work towards attaining a qualification despite having an MSc and BSc degree in Economics already Only if I initiate the course will my application be considered for an interview This is despite the fact that the position advertised was trainee financial analyst with the key word here trainee Then I was asked to search a few regulatory courses on google how legitimate are these courses god knows Then the caller tried to convince me to buy a course to attain a said license This entire call may take an hour and I think is designed in such a manner to make you think that you have already invested so much in the application and have a realistic chance to progress further so you might as well buy the books or the courses which were advertised for excessive amounts like 899 not to mention the add ons

Unfortunately another review
After my initial review I hadn t planned on writing another that was until I checked my inbox to find two rather patronising emails from this company I m really quite angry about this situation but will endeavour to keep the below professional Since writing my initial review the company has reached out to me advising me to remove my review I was reluctant to do so as I don t see the point in vetting the reviews as this doesn t truly reflect everyone s experiences fairly I was also notified by Trustpilot that the company had reported my review for containing illegal comments No such comments were found by Trustpilot and my review was then posted This afternoon I ve received an intimidating email from Myfinancialcareers threatening me with legal action against my review The company seems desperate for me to remove my review and any sense of sincerity seems to have been blown out of the water in their most recent email I m absolutely disgusted that they have the nerve to threaten me with legal action when my review only reflects facts simply because they re concerned for their reputation over the treatment of their customers After reading some other reviews unfortunately it seems others are facing similar problems with regards to poor treatment after purchasing exams My intention isn t to damage this companies reputation but simply to inform others of my experience so that they don t find themselves in the same position

AVOID AT ALL COSTS
myfinancial careers com IS DODGY EVERYONE 1 I also got contacted by them out of the blue in which I was confused about how they got my contact details They claimed I had applied to them which I did not 2 Then proceeded to interview you with my recuiter going under the name Amos Campbell on the phone for around an hour but stated they couldn t tell me the name of the company because of contractual obligations 3 Questions are very very basic and then claim they love you as a candidate and put you on hold to discuss your application 4 This is when they bring up the qualification and how I would need the regulation in order to progress my application And if you buy the course they will progress your application 5 Unfortunately I did buy the course but luckily I came to my senses after doing further research online and consulting with others to which I clocked this may be an intricate pressurised business practice a scam 6 I was able to apply for a refund directly CIFA as luckily I did not start the course and applied for the refund within the 14-day refund period Luckily their customer service did respond quickly but not surprisingly because legally I am allowed to have a refund 7 The catch is that these recruiters know this and so heavily put pressure on you to start the course and to wait 4-6 weeks for a response from this company in which by the time you have realised it is a scam you can t get your money back 8 Reading other reviews on here Reddit and other platforms I see that people waited the 4-6 weeks and had poor or little-to-know communication with the recruiter in which they came to find out that this is all an elaborate ploy - or a form of a recruitment scam Additional notes I HEAVILY suspect that they work together with CIFA to pressure graduates into taking the course fyi CIFA is not an FCA Approved Qualification Provider so essentially is not a course you should be taking to further your career you are much better taking a course from CFA or any other FCA approved courses Myfinancialcareers was incorporated on 20th Sept 2023 check the govuk website and there is also not alot of email traffic to the site For them to have so many negative reviews already in such a short space of time but at the same time claim to have contacts within the most prestigious companies in the industry screams something unethical is going on here Overall NO established recruiter will call you out of the blue and require you to purchase a course to be considered for a job progress to a certain stage Unless it is employer-sponsored don t spend anything on a course PLEASE TAKE CARE PEOPLE EDIT UPDATE 19 03 2024 After writing this initial review I have just gotten a threatening email from CIFA telling me to take down my review else legal action will be ensued I see this is consistent of them to do to people who post bad reviews about them- What I find funny is that I was simply telling everyone my experience there is nothing defamatory about this review- I also find it funny that this review was primarily about myfinancialcareers com and not about CIFA but yet I got a threatening email from CIFA This affirms my belief that CIFA and myfinancial careers are somehow associated with each other to some degree because why is CIFA concerned about my review about a completely separate company or how did they even know that I wrote this review

Total Scam - Avoid This Company
I recently had a very disappointing experience with this company They made me pay for a course promising it would lead to an interview After paying and completing the course they completely disappeared and never got back to me This is clearly a scam designed to take your money without delivering on their promises Save your money and avoid this company at all costs
