Unacceptable Security Breaches and Poor Support My Experience with MyTrueHost
My experience with MyTrueHost has been completely unsatisfactory and alarming From the beginning I encountered serious security breaches and support that was not only ineffective but also evasive and unprofessional Here s what happened Unauthorized access to my account and security breach Since I contracted MyTrueHost s services my website has been compromised three times In the latest incident I received an email from cPanel notifying me that my contact email had been changed Additionally the FTP email MySQL system and web disk passwords were altered without my consent This type of unauthorized access is completely abnormal and goes against any security protocol of a professional hosting provider Creation of accounts and unauthorized modifications When I logged into my account I found that 4 new email accounts had been created and 3 files had been added to my site s plugins It is particularly alarming that upon reviewing the access logs the changes came from an IP in India suggesting a possible security breach in MyTrueHost s server This is not something that should happen in a secure hosting environment where there should be measures in place to prevent unauthorized access Alteration of the robots txt file In addition to the previous issues I also discovered that my robots txt file had been tampered with This file is key for managing my site s indexing on search engines and any unauthorized changes could severely impact my site s visibility Modifying this file without the owner s consent is a direct violation of trust and security Evasive response from support and misinformation When I contacted MyTrueHost support they told me that the notification emails about changes were normal and that the system had restarted Not only did they ignore my concerns but they also assured me that I shouldn t worry about the creation of new accounts and files in the system When I insisted that this was abnormal they told me that all customers received the same type of emails which is completely false and shows a lack of commitment to their clients security Use of VPN by the provider and lack of transparency One particularly disturbing detail was that the support team informed me they use VPNs to make changes in the system This claim is extremely concerning as a hosting provider should be transparent and offer secure controlled access not use tools that mask the real location of those making the changes This raises further doubts about the security of their infrastructure and the handling of client accounts Poor support and limited hours Although MyTrueHost advertises 24 7 customer service support is only available from midnight to noon in my time zone Costa Rica This schedule is completely insufficient for a global hosting service Furthermore when I communicated that I planned to switch providers their response was indifferent and dismissive Do it we won t entertain you Why this is not normal These are completely abnormal practices in the hosting industry A reliable hosting provider should Ensure the security and privacy of customer accounts Have strict access control mechanisms and provide clear timely notifications of any changes to configurations Not tamper with critical files like robots txt without the owner s consent Not hide their real location behind VPNs as this is a sign of a lack of transparency Offer adequate support at accessible hours for their clients Conclusion MyTrueHost not only failed to protect my website but also demonstrated a level of misinformation indifference and alarming unprofessionalism If you are looking for a hosting provider that values security transparency and customer support I recommend looking for other options My experience with them was one of the worst I ve had in terms of security and customer service

Horrible experience
Horrible experience I took a plan and as soon as I pointed to their servers my website went down due to their completely botched SSL setup and despite multiple requests they failed to fix it The site was inaccessible showed security errors and they had absolutely no clue what they were doing The technical support team is untrained and un professional and all with fictitious names constantly shifting blame and giving generic responses instead of actually solving anything They blamed DNS settings yet the moment I migrated to a new host without changing DNS everything started working perfectly including the SSL They refused to take responsibility and even denied a refund claiming I left before they could fix it I had no choice but to leave their fix was taking forever and breaking everything more Avoid this host unless you want endless headaches downtime and support that barely understands the basics of web hosting There are far better providers out there who actually care about uptime and customer experience MyTrueHost is cheap for a reason and you ll pay for it in lost time lost traffic and lost sanity
