Had Phakic IOLs surgery over a year ago by Dr Alex and his team Procedure was quick care before and after was very straightforward and stress free All the staff were friendly and professional So far so good a year later perfect vision best decision I ve ever made

PRK Laser eye surgery

I went for my PRK Laser eye surgery the end of September 2023 and it was honestly the best decision in my life to date The team in Optilase Cork are brillant and on the day of surgery made me feel relaxed There is one night of pain with PRK but it is so worth it for the benefits after It has really helped with my self confidence I dont have any trouble with dry eyes and recovery has gone well so far I would strongly recommend Optilase Cork and PRK to anyone considering Laser Eye

Going to Optilase was handsdown the best decision of my life A decision I wish I made sooner I was always put off laser eye surgery by hear say however it was super easy painfree and took less than 15mins I booked the consultation and scheduled the surgery for 1 week later and haven t looked back since

Getting laser eye surgery with Optilase was the best decision I have ever made From the consultation with Dan right through to the surgery and the aftercare service it was all top class Everything is explained and any questions you have are answered Not having to use contacts or glasses anymore has changed my life I would highly recommend it

Brilliant

From my initial consultation everyone was so lovely accommodating The clinic itself is so clean and well kept easy to find and great parking available I was very nervous on the day of my surgery but all of the staff from the girl at front of house to the surgeon and his team made me feel so at ease The surgeon Tom took the time to chat to me before my surgery - he has a lovely way about him and really put me at ease The procedure itself was painless and over before I knew it When the anaesthetic wore off I was a bit sore and my eyes watered like mad for the entire evening I m now on day 3 post surgery and have a small bit of discomfort in one of my eyes but nothing major at all I am stunned with how good my eyesight is and they tell me it will get even better than this I have a small issue at night with lights appearing to have a halo effect but I assume this will gradually ease off over time The only thing I was slightly disappointed with was the laid back approach to booking appointments I had informed them at time of booking that I would need a late afternoon early evening appointment I didn t get the time for my surgery until 6 days beforehand and it was scheduled for first thing in the morning - I was traveling quite a distance to get to Carrickmines so it didn t suit - I got it changed to later no hassle but when I rang to change it I advised I was staying the night in a nearby hotel and would like to book my post op appointment for early the next morning The girl advised me she couldn t book it for me over the phone They informed me when I arrived on the day of the surgery what time my appointment was for the next day - it just would have been nice to know this in advance to be able to plan ahead That s only a small thing though I was booked in for my follow up this week in a more local clinic before I left on Saturday so delighted with that

Great experience Staff in the clinic for pre tests were friendly and professional Staff in the operating clinic were lovely and really put me at ease as I was very nervous The surgeon even gave me some tips for my honeymoon to Thailand Eyesight is perfect now Would recommend

Probably the best thing I ve done in me life

Probably the best thing I ve done in my life the lens surgery was a very fast and totally painless process The surgeon and nurses in the Dublin clinic were amazing as i suffer very bad anxiety attacks and they made the whole process and procedure so comfortable for me that i still find it hard to believe how good the overall care was I had my pre examinations in the Cork clinic with Dr Dan Ed who were both so so helpful and explained every last detail to me they have also been seeing me in Cork for my aftercare checkup s and i couldn t fault them even if I tried I am up again in Cork next week 25 09 24 for my next aftercare examination These are amazing people that leave you feeling completely stress free Thank you so so much Thomas Tramore
