Absolutely terrible service we have a business with 50 people and rely on a solid internet to do our work It s been a week with terrible internet that has brought the team to a standstill and still no resolution to be seen To see this happen in 2023 is a real shame If you want anything that is reliable please avoid Orcon at all cost

Shocking customer service and terrible

Shocking customer service and terrible wifi that barely worked only reaching one room for the whole year The price increased every couple of months which was not stated and they proceeded to make us pay a huge cancellation fee with no compensation

Orcon lied to me to get me to sign up

Orcon lied to me to get me to sign up to their power and are refusing to correct their mistakes They offered one thing but provide another Their customer service is terrible and you will never get a straight answer from anyone It is a terrible company

useless customer service don t know what they are doing don t answer questions probably can t understand English

Would never touch them again

I had signed up with them for the HyperFibre service they offered ended up switching mobile fibre and power to them Ended up being the worst thing I could do locked me into a contract They give you hardly any time to pay your bill which was pretty extreme After a couple months my speed had dropped to less than standard fibre speeds and found their website not offering hyper fibre any more All they tried to do was trouble shoot with me I never got the speeds advertised but at first I was getting about 80 of the advertised speed I ended up going through a disputes resolution service and had the exit fee waivered an account credit for the difference of the fibre as well I switched providers and my bill came in over 100 cheaper with the new provider Then guess what I get another bill from orcon a month later for a protection plan and router rental which I had sent back Gave me a run around with this they decided to argue over the router saying I sent the wrong one back This is still ongoing but I used them a few years ago without issue now i wouldnt again Am still trying to sort this issue but am prepared to take it further again Customer service isn t all that good either

Worst broadband network

Worst broadband network Got Fibre max from them with their Google nest router which can t even reach 5mts No point paying extra for high speed if the network drops after 5mts Was using skinny topup 4g wifi which could reach throughout my house at half the price

not reliable service

We have left the property May 2022 notified orcon and returned the modem Also I have not resided in NZ since we left Year January 2024 I have received an overdue payment of 5000 nzd Very difficult to contact them too Unreliable service and not recommended do not put yourself in this kind of situation

Charged for more than 12 months

We were on a 12-month fixed term contract However we have just been billed for a 13th month My flatmate called to cancel our account 25 days ago and they said it can take up to 30 days which is questionable and in that time we received the 13th bill for a 12-month contract Which we are absolutely not paying They said they would call her back tomorrow and took no immediate action

Orcon rip off

Had 12 month contract I couldn t cancel without paying 250 which I was never informed of as I signed up over the phone after 6 months they automaticly increased thier charges changing it from the agreed pice and wouldn t change it back to the agreed 12 month contract price so dont trust these cons
