Simply the Best Coffee You Will Drink
We first discovered Origin Coffee while on holiday in Cornwall The Eden Project and Steins fish and chip restaurants serve Origin single origin coffee roasted in Helston We were instantly hooked by the fruity Resolute blend and have ordered many 250 g packs via their mail order service since We have had no problems during the Covid-19 lockdown period unlike with holiday property companies such as Heart of the Lakes and Sykes Cottages who are blatently breaching U K consumer law and ripping ordinary people like us off

Rude staff
Rude staff awful customer service Bitter roast I ve been a subscriber for a few months and the last two batches have been awful so bitter and just tastes disgusting Sent in couple of queries - no response Went to the Southwark store and was faced with some annoying rude staff who was being Mr Know it all Didn t bother hearing me out and just kept giving the talk of he s the barrister and I m just a rando Never ordering here again

Something not quite right
I ve tried to give Origin a good try I had a subscription to 2 x Rotating Espresso Coffee Subscription and 2 x Feature Coffee Subscription and 1 x Decaf Coffee Subscription for two months So I tried 4 of their non-decaf beans and their decaf For the non-decaf in particularly they all lacked body and flavour I came to the conclusion that something just isn t right The theory that I have I could be wrong is that the beans are either stale which is contradictory to the roast date on the packet or the packaging somehow lets in oxygen when it s sealed and hasn t yet been opened It could be something else but they tasted stale My set up is the Sage Bambino Plus and Timemore Sculptor 64s grinder and I brew flat whites During the course of the three months I skipped a month over Christmas to try other roasters I upgraded my set up with a spring loaded tamper a puck screen a bottomless portafilter and an IMS basket so I wondered whether that made a difference So I waited to write this review until I d tried a different roaster with the new set up I can categorically say that Origin beans have less body and flavour due to tasting less fresh than all other roasters that I ve tried since moving back to the UK in 2022 Some of the other roasters that I ve used are Bailies Lucid Union Pact All Press Square Mile Bell Lane Ireland Coffee-Direct Grind Blue Coffee Box and Modern Standard I don t know what to say because I gave them a fair chance over a period of time and across a variety of beans It s not a roaster I will try again soon

Not fit for purpose in it s current state
Used Origin for years and have always been happy with their service and quality Latest experience has undone all of that for me I placed quite a larger order and only half of it arrived 3 emails and 1 message through Instagram with no response I had to call through and chase them to send the rest of my order No apology or even a simple rest on its way message It s not the customers responsibility to fix your errors and constantly chase for a resolution
