Almost certainly a scam

Not sure what the scam is letters offering to buy your personal and intimate information including your DNA naturally raise suspicions Letter reads as scam otherwise and addition of NHS logo and professor s signature just tips it over the edge into don t touch with a bargepole If you want your blood-pressure etc checked - just go to the nurse at your Doctors It doesn t take a commercial company to fish for this information

In theory this sounds like a good idea But as I was filling out the survey I started to feel a little uneasy and stopped Seems we sign away a lot of our personal health information that can be used not just by the NHS but companies abroad For me that is a red flag I won t be participating I am not about to hand over this information to an American private health insurance company

Badly organised

Firstly I don t think OFH is a scam just very badly organised Arrived for appointment yesterday in Boots Canterbury to be told by staff appointment had been cancelled so on checking my email yes just a few hours before by then I was at the appointment Was told by staff all Appointments were cancelled last week also I m surprised a respected high street store such as Boots is participating in this at all I regret sending my personal information especially when thinking was for a good cause

Wrong cholesterol readings provided - by a huge margin I went straight to my GP and got another test - OFH - cholesterol 5 74 - GP test 4 5 OFH triglycerides 5 24 heart attack figures GP 0 8 The worry caused by OFH as a result was horrendous Very dismissive when called to raise this as a concern My worry is already busy GP s will be getting more requests from patients to have bloods retaken

10 voucher never arrived

Signed up completed the health and lifestyle questionnaire attended appointment but no 10 voucher as promised was sent Emailed to query complain and no reply as of 8 days later

Terrible pain in my arm after blood was taken Then passed out in the coffee shop about 20 minutes later Arm so painful I haven t slept and have not been able to work since having it done last Friday and it has come up in a terrible bruise I m not sure the staff have had sufficient training to do the blood tests Horrible experience

Got the letter through the post and it looks like an official NHS letter asking about research I scanned the QR code and read the bumf Why do they want to give me cash for some blood When signing up you have to consent to Researchers approved to access and store the information collected by Our Future Health could be from academic organisations charities or companies in the UK or overseasSceptic in me thinks American pharma insurance companies etc I m all for research but not this one thanks
