Paint Direct Gillingham This is a company to avoid at all costs I purchased Armstead paint online I was pleased to find it as the colour was hard to come by and that it was Armstead rather than Dulux as I knew that the same colour in Dulux is a different colour altogether When the paint arrived it WAS a different colour I got in touch with paint direct and they told me to send them 2 samples of the paint painted onto cards 1 Some of what I had left over previously and thought I had ordered 2 The paint I had just received After two weeks of waiting for a response I called them and they said that they had delivered the right paint and it could not be refunded and returned because it was mixed specially They then let it slip that it was actually Dulux paint not Arrmstead and was therefore Diamond Matt not Durable Matt and subsequently said it was my fault for ordering Dulux in the first place I said it was specifically Armstead Durable Matt that I ordered as I knew Dulux was the incorrect colour and sent them a copy of my order which supported what I said and photographs of my original tin and theirs What followed was an incredible email exchange with Paint Direct Customer service where they were 1 Prepared to fabricate a story to suit themselves2 Were libellous3 Rude and aggressive I replied refuting everything they had said and that they were also in clear breach of the sale of goods act 2015 I told them that if they failed to comply with the Act then I would initiate a Paypal dispute and write to their Chief Exec JH to make him aware of their interpretation of customer service They then backed down and said that they would get the paint analysed by Dulux I told them that my contract was with them not Dulux and I expected them to resolve the issue and not a third party I ordered Armstead anyway I heard nothing more so I triggered a Paypal dispute After several weeks they agreed to refund the paint if I returned it at my own expense I returned the paint to them and they failed to acknowledge receipt so I had to chase for a response through Paypal and after having to go to even greater lengths to prove that it was delivered through the courier the dispute was eventually settled in my favour I claimed back the return postage through PayPal returns on us where they pay the postage but not Paint Direct who are quite happy for customers or Pal Pay to pay for their mistakes If you have taken the time to read this email I can assure you I could have gone into a lot more detail about just how bad Paint Direct customer service is It has been stressful and frustrating experience and took me 3 months to resolve Avoid at all costs

Failed to give refund for missing item
Failed to give refund for a tin of paint missing from original next working day delivery despite repeatedly telling them I would need it refunded and them stating they would refund it The tins which did arrive had inadequate packaging imo which is probably why one out of three didn t survive delivery I was then given a new delivery date for the missing tin it didn t arrive then either I was then told a few days later it had been delivered it hadn t been delivered they had simply misread the FedEx tracking - FedEx had actually disposed of it They did eventually send a replacement tin which I didn t want as it was now too late to be any use to me which I rejected delivery of and was returned to them by FedEx on Oct 20th FedEx tracking confirms this This item still hasn t been refunded All in all far more hassle than it s worth

Avoid terrible paint mixing rude and aggressive
Avoid avoid avoid If I could give a zero star rating I would The Farrow and Ball paint I purchased as ready mixed turned out to be quite a different colour to the paint I had ordered from F B directly From the very start of trying to get a resolution the person I was dealing with who turned out to be the company director was rude and aggressive in his tone I met all of the requirements asked including providing photos and a painted sample but he still insisted that the issue wasn t proven The paint was actually made to order and not ready mixed as advertised and he decided to pass my information including email address name etc without my knowledge or permission onto who knows who including F B to sort out He told them that their paint didn t match his When I said that my complaint was with Paint Direct he said it was not possible to sort it out without F B I stated that he should be dealing with his customers and sort out his issues with his machine and suppliers directly with them At one stage I was put onto another representative to talk to who talked over me when I tried and tried to outline my issue and then started shouting at me and accusing me of talking over her when she wanted to tell me how her house was decorated She said that she couldn t get a word in even though she was the only one talking She said she would return my money and then hung up My money was not returned as promised Ultimately PD would not accept any responsibility for the paint being a different colour as it wasn t proven despite photos and a painted sample as clear as day The notion that I was the customer and any investigation down the line with F B did not need to involve me was totally lost on him He also felt the need to tell me over and over that all paint is effectively mixed including F B s which means that there was no issue with advertising the paint as ready mixed as it might have only recently been mixed All in all I don t think I ve ever been treated so disrespectfully and rudely by a company and its employees ever I did eventually get a refund with a refusal to admit the colour was different This is only a brief overview of what happened there is so much more so I would avoid at all costs

Don t even consider this company
Don t even consider this company Poor customer service Won t even exchange if you make a mistake in ordering the wrong finish disgusting Claiming that thier paint is made fresh from machine and therefore will sit on shelf until sold Basically insinuating that the paint has a very short shelf life what rubbish Asked well what about the tons thst sit on b q shelf or brewers Seems to me that fartow and ball you need to educate your stockists on the longevity of the paint Only bought it yesterday and refusing to exchange Stay away from this company Go to a reputable stockists who can help you and knows a bit more about the paint
