To the expats - think twice

To the expats I m sitting here at home with a temperature of 38 5 degrees yet again I have never been so sick as in the last 6 months My child is also sick He s been sick at least 5 times in the first 3 months of daycare They will say this is because of building immunity but it s not that The daycare facilities are not clean basic rules of hygiene are not applied eg sharing of used unwashed toys between babies and different groups is common place pacifiers are taken from mouth of one child and given to another routinely carers do not wash hands when changing diapers before or after and move on to another child task floors are so dirty our child comes home with brown knees I even looked up gemente inspection reports to see our local one failed last year I will be lodging a complaint soon to force an inspection It is shocking to see such a dirty and badly run place in a developed country They use the word pedagogy as a catchall for their supposed good practices but clearly don t know what it means If you have specific diet requirements forget it Despite what you are told on intake they won t accommodate your child s needs They are all about routine Their routine not your child s routine or needs Despite the advertising there is no child regular development going on Emotional support requests are managed to minimise interaction - give a pacifier or toy and walk away Many times I have visited this place to eery complete silence The children are devoid of life forced into rules not allowed to run shout throw or climb Not healthy and not recommended for young child development We will be pulling our child out as soon as you can Don t sign up
