Just don t bother
Ordered a cheese gift for a family member with P W Their website says overnight delivery DPD sent an email informing me delivery would be Tuesday1653-1753 I informed the recipient who waited in for several hours DPD didn t show They didn t bother to contact us I checked the tracking details once I heard it was a few hours late and found that DPD didn t deliver because they claim they couldn t find the house They have delivered P W cheese to this address previously They had our contact details but made no attempt to contact us to ask where to go They simply decided not to bother The DPD website said they would deliver the cheese the following day Where would the cheese be stored and how overnight The delivery details say overnight delivery not after a night a too wherever a DPD delivery driver decides to keep them The options on DPD only allow you to have the delivery taken to a new address I emailed P W who close at 5pm saying I wanted to cancel the order have a full refund and described how poor the service is They did not bother to deliver Did not bother to contact us to tell us Did not bother to contact us when they couldn t find the address I also described how the service is atrocious and how dangerous it I spoke to P W the following morning to confirm cancellation and was initially told it was fine because the cheese would be stored in a refrigerated van overnight How do P W know what DPD are doing with it Plus how does that meet the advertised commitment of overnight delivery They seemed quite irritated and said it wasn t their fault I pointed out that they engage DPD so it s their responsibility Will not use again I understand things go wrong but a decent company will be apologetic and keen to understand the issue P W couldn t have cared less

P W should change couriers
Ordered items twice The first time I paid 14 for delivery on a specific date Delivery date was initially missed and I was told that it would arrive the next day instead After two weeks of waiting with my items not arriving I called and was told that the order had been cancelled by DPD as the delivery slot had been missed and so the items were considered perished My parcel contained no perishable items so what a waste of time I received no tracking information at any point so had no idea what was going on with my parcel Christmas present ruined The second time I reordered the same items to replace the original order that never arrived - what a mistake Again I paid 7 for next day delivery and on the supposed day of delivery I ve received no confirmation of my order being dispatched or out for delivery Again I haven t received any tracking information so have no idea what is happening to my parcel P W need to change couriers because these experiences have put me off ever ordering from this company again and I would tell friends and family to steer clear too

Really disappointed with the Cheese
Really disappointed with the Cheese Club Very poor quality in January Think we got the Christmas leftovers as two of four cheeses were well past their best But also communication is poor and cheese does not arrive on the dates given Sadly I won t be recommending or gifting again

Really disappointed with the Cheese Club Very poor quality The Barkham Blue was covered in a brown mould not intended and mostly inedible It should have been delicious The cheese club is a very expensive gift that fails to deliver in terms of quality or quantity and I definitely I won t be recommending

Really disappointed with my purchase of stichelton cheese we purchase on tue15 10 24 and on Wed 16 10 24 it was covered in brown mould I emailed sales at paxton and Whitfield who was going to forward my email to jermyn Street who have not even replied back to me i would not buy any more cheese from that shop

Confusing and Off-putting Website
The Paxton Whitfield website is thoroughly confusing all item prices are marked for widely-varying weights There is no Per Kg price of each cheese anywhere to be seen hence it is impossible to compare on any value for money basis I have been completely put off buying from their website for exactly this reason

Very unhelpful
Very unhelpful All I wanted was vouchers for a relative as a Christmas present Accidentally ordered on line voucher which was not what I wanted - website not clear at all Not a problem cancelling the e voucher however trying to get someone to organise postal vouchers so able to spend in shop was a nightmare Rang a couple of times - was told someone would ring me back They never did I had to ring them When I asked why nobody rang me - said they were busy and short staffed However agreed to send 80 of vouchers out by mail but I would have to pay 10 postage Told them to forget it The person who they were for is an ex MP so can t wait to let him know Behind the times incompetent company in my opinion Expensive - but obviously my 80 of business meant nothing to them

Substantial cheese order for family Christmas was supposed to arrive yesterday Paid extra for a guaranteed delivery date but order has not yet been despatched No-one picks up the phone or responds to emails so don t know whether it s on the way or never coming Wish I d read these reviews before ordering weeks ago

Absolutely disgraceful service
Ordered in early November about 150 worth of different cheeses including a baby stilton for an event before Christmas The delivery date was set as Wednesday 18th Dec We did not receive an email that it had been dispatched so phoned on Wednesday morning to see where the order was We were reassured that the DPD van was unable to take all the cheeses so it would be sent overnight Wednesday It did not arrive Thursday morning This time we were told on the phone it was being packed up but would be sent out later that day It did not arrive on Friday morning we were told that it was with the carrier which we knew was untrue as DPD always send an email when they pick up We had also sent an email the response was a very different story that it was being packed it should arrive on Saturday 21st or Sunday 22nd December Today we have asked for a refund which was confirmed quickly the only thing that went smoothly Such a shame I have been visiting ordering cheese from Paxton Whitfield for over 50 years Have had two previous poor experiences but nothing like this What is so annoying are the lies and seemingly arrogant dismissive manner when inquiring about an order that is 3 days late It is good that an old established firm has embraced online shopping and I am aware that their produce is time-limited but at Christmas they obviously need more staff It is the management not the office staff that need a very big shake up

Steer well clear
Disgraceful grossly incompetent a negligent of any semblance of service An expensive Xmas present for my sister still undelivered They present a competent facade we will call you when it s despatched and DPD will call you to give you a delivery window No one is available to answer your call Leave your number and we ll call you back asap No cheese No telephone calls No emails No hope I had an account with these people
