I wish I could leave a zero rating This company exploits and scams customers The plumber I dealt with has no moral compass or integrity As with other customers he found reasons to extend jobs to maximise income as he charges by the hour The work undertaken was a boiler conversion sorting a leaking tap unblocking a kitchen drain and replacing a thermostatic control in the main bathroom shower Total cost came to approximately 9 000 When I raised some of my concerns subsequently I was reimbursed 500The plumber seemed pleasant enough until I raised queries then his demeanour totally changed The boiler was fitted in less than a day and a half single handedly He informed me the old boiler was welded to the wall and thus could not be removed - I had a handy person come several weeks later who was able to remove it easily within half an hour The plumber advised the water tank in my loft could not be removed as it posed an asbestos exposure risk - again not true based on information I ve since ontained from two other plumbers He refused to take any waste materials away telling me this was standard practice However he did take the copper hot water tank without telling me probably because he would get some money for it He did not flush the system as per industry standards for a boiler conversion He dumped tools on my en-suite bedroom mattress which I had to get professionally cleaned Following the advice of another plumber who I paid to inspect the work -I reported him to Gas Safe and thank goodness I did He had fabricated the gas pressure on the boiler installation paperwork meaning there was a significant fire risk to my home and several other areas of concern were identified Due to health issues I missed the plumber when he came to make good the faults identified by Gas Safe Despite offering my sincere apologies the plumber became intimidatory saying I had caused him a loss of several thousand pounds work for that day advising he had cancelled jobs to attend my home and for which he would need to be compensated I stupidly agreed to pay in part When he arrived a few days later to complete the work I asked on his arrival how much I needed to pay and he said he was not prepared to discuss it until the remedial work had been completed As a female living alone I felt extremely intimidated and now believe this was his intention as a I had involved Gas Safe When I asked again about the additional charges as he was leaving he stated he would waive it in this instance suggesting he was doing me a favour I had taken a photo of the boiler and pipework prior to his arrival due to my concern about being exploited again He actually tried to claim the Gas Safe engineer who inspected his work had left the cover of the boiler open advising that it posed a potential fire risk again a lie as the photos taken confirm it was not open He charged me 500 for a filter on the boiler which I ve since learned from two other plumbers comes as standard I asked him several times to supply receipts for the boiler and other goods but he declined stating this was not required of him I noted after his departure that he had left a hole in my bedroom floor not immediately evident as the floor is carpeted When he first arrived to my home he claimed to be an employee of the company but Google searches I undertook several months later indicate according to Companies House records that he Joe Dawkins is actually the Director He engaged another individual to fit the new thermostatic control on my bathroom shower who claimed he did not have the right tool and so disappeared off to Screwfix and charged me an additional hours labour I should make clear this was routine not emergency work Including VAT I was charged just over 700 and the water is still not running sufficiently hot in the shower Two other plumbers were shocked and appalled at this cost when I told them This sorry tale took place between June and September of last year and it s taken this time to build up the courage and confidence to post a review as I was advised by the Gas Safe engineer I will now also be reporting the company to Trading Standards

Please be very careful indeed if you engage with this company This company has scammed me and I will now be reporting them to trading standards I was charged 1 050 19 for work to replace and fit a toilet flusher The work took a total of 1 hour 10-15 minutes to complete with an additional 1 hour for the plumber to source the materials totalling 62 from a nearby plumber s merchant To add insult to injury the work was shoddy which was not obvious when it was first completed leading to a persistent leak from my toilet cistern through my kitchen ceiling my bathroom is situated on the first floor of my property A reputable plumber has since made good on the defective work including materials for a total bill of 88 Please be aware of this company s devious tactics to ensure you don t fall victim to the same type of scam These are the facts to watch out for which I should have been more alert over The receptionist explained there was a 49 call-out fee but did not explain the plumber s hourly rate was 250 excluding VAT When the plumber arrived he asked me to speak into his mobile to confirm I was happy with his hourly rate I first queried how long the work would take and was under the impression it would be a relatively quick job So I was reluctant but assured that the bill would not be excessive Throughout the job the plumber was constantly swearing and using various other forms of expletives as he was having trouble tightening two nuts under the cistern I have two young girls in my family who could hear this When the work was finished and before I received the bill the plumber asked me to confirm whether I was satisfied with the job and for me to confirm this by speaking into his phone and electronically signing his phone I was wary of this but still didn t suspect foul play so went along with it more fool me The plumber then sat in his van whilst I received an electronic invoice The plumber returned to check I had made the necessary payment I was numb speechless realising at that point I had been defrauded and had no choice but to pay The plumber had also rounded his hours up from 2 hours 10-15 minutes to 3 hours and laughed to say that the bill could have easily tipped the 3-hour mark He went on to boast that he had charged a client on the prior day 3 hours of clock time for draining a water tank a job that he said required absolutely no manual effort on his part The quality of the work as subsequently evidenced by the leak and explained by the second reputable plumber was wholly defective negligent for various reasons I have taken a number of pictures to prove this The plumber had used a small boiler washer within the valve to the cistern as opposed to a proper larger valve washer The correct action would have been to replace the value for a cost of about 10 The black rubber doughnut that sits under the toilet cistern had worn away and had been glued to the cistern and toilet hub with sealant The correct action would have been to replace the doughnut for a cost of about 5 The nut to the value had only been tightened by hand rather than a spanner wrench so was not tight enough Additional sealant had been excessively applied between the toilet cistern and toilet hub so was temporarily masking any leaks So please be aware of this company before you engage and only engage if you feel confident and are happy to run the risk of paying excessive monies towards potentially sub-standard work

I was quoted 195 an hour and charged 299 I can t get any response Just don t use them All the reviews here are correct When you need an emergency plumber and they say they are local you feel safe But they are not local a firm don t know what to do

We rang this Company this morning due to the seal on the toilet was gone so water leaking etc Plumber arrived on time asked for my email he then sent T C which I had to sign I wish that I had taken my time and read them properly I understand that an emergency call out is more expensive I thought this applied to weekends etc Plumber stated he didn t have the correct part appears a common thing so went off and bought one After a while job was done he made sure it was over the 2 hours cost was 681 77I questioned the price of the part he bought and requested the invoice he said he never had one but sent me a collection form nothing on it about the part that was bought for the job Then proceeded to say oh sorry I bought 2 seals it shouldn t have been that much I was refunded for the part after many questions asked I then was asked to speak into a phone to say I was happy with the job Very strange I suggest you ring around if you need a plumber sadly we have and a lot of broken promises not turning up etc Using this Company has left an extremely bad taste

Avoid them at all cost

Used them this morning for rental property There was no cold water supply and as I was busy I asked tenant to arrange for an engineer and she had called Plumbing Heating-gas Engineer turned up on time which was nice He called to let me know he is in and will start work but I need to response to email and accept T Cs before he can do any work By the time I got the email and read and questioned T Cs almost half an hour was gone which I was billed for as part total worked hours I had no choice to accept as I needed the work done Initially engineer advised he will try to finish within an hour but somehow with waiting for me to accept via email and him doing the job it took over 1 hour and I was billed for 2 hours 249 per hour plus 49 for call out They sent invoice which was wrong over estimated and asked for immediate payment where invoice was saying I have 24 hours to pay engineer was standing in the house until payment was made which I found it unprofessional Not engineer s fault as he was told to do so by his office Very poor and appalling company and far too expensive You better off to use your local plumber from check a trade or even British Gas would have been better and cheaper

Do not use this company it is a scam Called to ask how much it would cost to fix a leaking tap and they insisted they couldn t give me any price estimate without seeing it On arrival they continued to be vague about costings and I had to insist to get a price before they started the work Engineer then said it was about 160 an hour for labour why couldn t they say this on the phone and over 100 for parts and again was vague about how long it would take I said I d call another company as I could see it would cost over 350 Engineer had no ID badge and insisted on callout fee being paid before leaving I asked to speak to the manager on the phone to complain about misleading pricing- he was rude and disrespectful and just kept insisting I pay the call-out fee They sent me an invoice which had a fake address on it When u emailed them about this they didn t respond Found another company who did the job for about 250 Will report this company to trading standards

I was ripped off

This company charged me for four hours work 144 per hour plus call out fee of 49 all plus vat The parts cost 25 as it was only replacement of leaky pipes and waste under the sink The job should have taken less than an hour for any plumber but it was dragged our to four hours Do not deal with this company They are charlatans and totally dishonest I have an addition to my initial review This morning despite paying 780 to get water beneath my sink sorted out I find that it is worse than before and absolutely soaked I have no choice but to call in the plumber that I tried to get originally and I have dealt with before I am convinced this company had somehow hijacked my phone call to that company and obtained my business fraudulently I feel that one star is too much and there should be a zero option
