Qtrade Warning
Twice in the past few years I have attempted to transfer cash from Qtrade to Meridian and both times it was a nightmare The most recent attempt has been going on for 3 months and I finally gave up today and will be transferring our families Qtrade assets to TD Waterhouse Warning if you have accounts with Meridian and their affiliate Qtrade institution if you move cash from a registered plan at Qtrade back over to Meridian registered account they will charge you This is not the case within a TD Bank and TD Waterhouse Now qtrade wants to charge for moving our accounts out of Qtrade which was a result of their poor service Win Win for Qtrade Lose Lose for the customer

Total scam ETFs are not free
Wow what a total scam They say it s free to buy ETFs but they charge 8 for commission fee when I try to do so and if you do not have 25000 in the account they charge 25 every 3 months if you want to close your account within the first year they charge you 100 plus taxes Either way I am screwed I so wish I never opened an account with them I am so screwed

Stay a way from Qtrade
Big dissatisfaction with their service They charge extra 50 dollars for withdrawing of funds from my RRIF Account wich is over and above the yearly withdrawal which is required by the government Also they are very slow of transferring money out from the accounts which has been closed with them Lately getting hold of the their customer service is almost impossible I was asking one their customer service representative to be called by his supervisor that request is never fulfilled So I will close all of my account with them as soon as possible My advice to you is as follows Stay a way from them

DO NOT MOVE TO QTRADE
I moved to Qtrade from another broker mainly because of their positive reviews for their customer service but boy was I wrong The customer service is a joke You get disconnected by the staff if the situation is complicated Emails take days to answer if they ever are and no one contacts you in case of problems with your account you are on your own I am so disappointed I will definitely move away from Qtrade as soon as I can

Find a better option
Stay away from this bunch of crooks they charge high commission fees and if you ever dare close your account they help themselves to 100 from your remaining available balance Worst thing is I never even requested they close it There are better more ethical options out there
