RACV - EXPENSIVE AND GOOD LUCK IF YOU HAVE TO MAKE A CLAIM
I recieved my car Insurance renewal last month from RACV Car Insurance a massive 50 Increase with no claims or changes from the previous year I phoned to discuss they were not interested and could not explain why the massive increase I voted with my feet and decided to go with another insurer 800 saving Very disappointed customer Additionally I made a landloard home Insurance claim last year It was a pathetic from start to finish A lot of false promises and total lack of communication I had to fight and fight to get my claim approved The tenant caused 40 000 damage and it took 6 months for the claim to be settled I would never insure with RACV again

Worst experience
Worst experience Have been with racv for years Claimed glass repair given incorrect repairer 3 times No help or support from racv Over 6 weeks and still not fixed causing further damage to my car spent hours trying to get repairs completed and then paid for windscreen myself still no funds reimbursed Still waiting on further repairs Not acceptable Never had a claim in 28 years of driving

Slow and painful experience
Got in a not at fault accident and been waiting WEEKS 3 so far for just an answer to IF my car can be repaired or not Firstly they wanted me to drive an un-roadworthy car to a repair shop next the repair shop THEY suggested told me they only deal with minor repairs 1 week wasted Next they wanted photos which I sent the same day however 7 days later they tell me they never received them despite me calling multiple times to follow up Then they FINALLY get my car towed to a repairer after many teary phone calls which takes 3 more days to get a quote and now they say it will be another week for RACV to review it I have been insured both car and home for YEARS time for a change

Partner died 2 years ago racv where informed and appropriate paper work supplied you would thing that would be the end Nup a month short of his anniversary received monies owing incorrect sorted that with Warrnambool branch and then get another notice getting refund to him bank closed went to Warrnambool we don t deal with boats ring that No you would think they would have rang but NO not my job

Absolutely horribly
Absolutely horribly stressful experience I had a witness to accident as I was dragged along the highway by a truck I constantly got confusing conflicting information Often asked to resend information that I had already sent more than twice Helpful hints Put in a complaint to the complaint department They must contact you within 48 hours I did this a couple of times for different matters If you are going to ring them ring at 8 30 a m to avoid waiting Best tip I just ended up ringing through to the complaints department I have been a member for forty years Never again

Worst customer service in Australia
We have rung numerous times everytime we are told a supervisor will call us back and no one ever does We complained nearly a year ago and our issue has not been resolved Worst customer service we have ever received from any company within Australia We have now decided to go to the insurance ombudsman

Zero StarsDo not fall into their trap Whatever RACV tells you about comprehensive insurance is a lie They promise full coverage but when you need to make a claim you ll find out that their coverage is severely lacking Hidden clauses and exclusions abound making it nearly impossible to get the support you were assured of Their named Alan is very unprofessional and rude making an already stressful situation even worse Save yourself the frustration and look elsewhere for your insurance needs

My house was burnt down in 2020
My house was burnt down in 2020 Now over 4 years amd still not completed Failed promises no followup failed callbacks missed deadlines It makes one wonder if there is some form of deliberate intent here However 4 years of callxwaiting follows and constant excuses is emotionally draining

Been months and months - money taken - terrible experience
Involved in a collision dating back to April 2024 Claim RAV245759684RACV were quick to take my excess payment immediately Have taken in the car for inspection ages and ages ago no update from RACV Website still showing that I need to book in an inspectionReceived an email this morning saying they have noticed my car hasn t been repaired and that I should book a repair via their website - how can I do this if it doesn t let me as it still thinks I haven t done the inspection Bit of a joke actually

Disappointing Price Hike
As a long-time RACV customer I ve always been satisfied with their services However my recent experience has been incredibly disappointing After a minor incident involving my wife who is also a named driver on the policy my insurance premium skyrocketed It s disheartening to see such a significant increase for an incident I wasn t directly involved in RACV prides itself on customer loyalty but this drastic price hike feels like a betrayal I urge them to reconsider their pricing policies and treat loyal customers more fairly
