An example of how not to run an education institute
Remit Training are about as disappointing as you can get with how you expect a company providing an education service should be Everything about Remit throughout my experience has highlighted that they are not the people to be providing this service this is true for majority of the people I have had to interact with within their company The only thing that keeps me from saying that this apprenticeship was a complete waste of my time that I regret my time doing it is that they introduced me to the first employer that I ve found myself enjoying working for But their purpose isn t being an employment agency so they ve failed in their purpose They re unprofessional incompetent and incredibly annoying to deal with The most frustrating thing about them is that they do not respect your or your employers time at all They have handled my apprenticeship with such little care and attention that I definitely won t be trusting them with any of my further education For context the course is IT related One of the main glaring issues and root cause for most other problems is that I had 3 trainers within the first 4 months of the course before returning to the 1st one I had Of the 3 only 1 of them I found to be an actually engaging and competent enough trainer just a shame that I only had 1 session with them before they decided to leave Despite them trying to maintain that being passed around trainers like a hot potato wasn t going to distrupt my course there has been a serious lack of consistency between trainers - they contradicted eachother on how the coursework should be completed and the quality of training varied as well Tutor no 1 and 4 who retired and then came back gave either no effort or at least an unsuitable introduction to the apprenticeship and the sessions have been devoid of any useful information we ve been having the same conversations in every single learning session and progress review with zero substance Tutor no 2 who I had for 1 session was really good set a really engaging task went over in great detail their interpretation on how to complete the apprenticeship and I felt informed for the first time Tutor no 3 who joined Remit then left about 3-4 months later would actually do some form of lessons where there was actual substance to the sessions it s just too bad that they kept teaching us the wrong information and didn t know basic terminology When tutor no 1 came back they completely dismantled all of the sense that tutor no 2 made of the apprenticeship These have been huge setbacks that they seem very unaware of how devastating they have been to the course Tutor no 1 and 4 then proceeded to throw previous trainers under the bus including themselves for what I think they perceived as not doing a good enough job this is incredibly unprofessional but also hilarious to an extent because they insinuated that if we started with them we did the outstanding work that they were talking about at the time would have been done within 6 weeks it wasn t not for me or anyone else in my group I don t know if they forgot or that they misspoke they said it many more times though after because of us having the SAME conversations every few weeks and when I heard those words being uttered I couldn t believe my ears and it was pretty much the nail in the coffin for my trust in them I don t think they realise how infuriating it is to hear that we could have been done with it much sooner if only they had actually bothered to introduce us onto the course properly maybe if I had started with tutor no 2 I would have been fine The other thing I wanted to mention more about is just the lack of respect for people s time It s been awful Consistently they would try to book me in for sessions exams or whatever else outside of my working hours despite being told time and time again what my working hours are and because its not exactly at the forefront of my mind when they do this I ve had them calling emailing me pressuring me to get online before I ve even woken up to get ready for work on some days Outside of this the systems that their exam provider uses are so shocking that I ve had parts of my weekend wasted because I thought I d try and get a mock exam done but then had problems accessing it submitting results I had an exam where the invigilator was clearly having computer issues tried to pin them on me I can prove it wasn t me and it took too long to resolve the issues because their tech support cut me off and couldn t understand basic English so they had to cancel the exam and waste more of my time They also had to arrange a resit for an exam because they gave us the wrong format On top of all this the complaint I made was met with them taking no ownership for anything Avoid this company

Bad communication and it is ALL self learning with the occasional meeting
I started my course a while ago now and I can say 100 that the way the course is set out is shocking I was believed to be able to come into this apprenticeship knowing absolutely nothing about IT and get the right training and help I needed However this was not the case First of all I have had NO help at all in the months i have been on the course apart form a monthly meeting I email asking for help and the replies take 2DAYS AT LEAST When you attend the monthly meeting on teams there is 8 other people in there so you cannot have a 1on1 You can schedule a meeting after with your tutor but if you need help with anything after that meeting your on your own I have absolutely NO EXPERIENCE or knowledge walking into this apprenticeship and i have been thrown into the course I am also on another course i didn t know about until my first meeting and wasn t specified on the apprenticeship scheme I am working full time with 2 courses on at the same time remit are setting projects WHILE i am doing that AND I am doing projects in my job role It is very overwhelming especially when you are on your own trying to figure it out All I can say is i am 100 not coming back to remit training for further training and I don t know how it can be called training when your doing it all yourself If i can save someone the pain and hassle from this comment ill be happy

Horrendous Company to deal with- this
Horrendous Company to deal with- this is coming from a Company that sent its apprentice there The tutor that came out to us had no clue on even the most basic knowledge of HGV repairs and was essentially just a box ticker Our apprentice was sent multiple times up to the college as requested by Remit and then most of the time was sat there doing nothing obviously being paid by ourselves The apprentice wasn t given any training on a diagnostics was made to take a test which they hadn t learned a single thing about-they then subsequently failed the exam Fine - But then we were charged 700 for retest fee s I think its disgusting that a big company like this can get away with this

Avoid working for this company
This company are awful to work for How on earth they managed to get an outstanding Ofsted grade is beyond me The curriculum content is shocking the staff are unprofessional don t set a good standard for the apprentices and when you try and implement higher standards they penalise you for it Apprentices are constantly complaining employers are kept in the dark and the first time pass rate for Remit is awfully low They are all about getting bums on seats and show no care over the quality of the training Have just been awarded platinum status for investors in people which is an absolute joke They don t invest in their staff and it appears that the owner of Remit is best friends with the inspector for investors in people Hmmmm nothing suspicious there This is a classic case of having the wrong person owning the business but who knows all the right people to gain their status An absolutely shambles from top to bottom As an employer shocking as a training provider shocking Steer well clear you ll regret it if you don t People are disorganised but the company are very good and fluffing up the pillows to make it look all nice but deep down it s not
