Excellent devices Have them installed on every TV in our home Watch all our streaming services Netflix Acorn Amazon Prime Xfinity via the Roku interface without issues We have even taken a Roku stick to Mexico to watch Netflix while on vacation It connected to the hotel wi-fi and worked fine A few points to be aware of There is never an activation fee to setup your Roku device If you re being asked for an activation fee at initial setup you re being scammed by a third-party not Roku Roku is a software platform that is becoming the industry standard for streaming applications Streaming channel services i e Netflix Disney Acorn etc design their application to run on the Roku platform Just like app developers must design their apps to run on Apple IOS and Google Android There are literally thousand of free apps or channels that run on Roku and can be found in the Roku app search function The Roku channel is a separate free cable-like experience that is actually run by Roku You can watch live and on demand movies and shows for free with ads which support the channel If you already subscribe to a pay services like Netflix Britbox or whatever you simply search and install that services app in the Roku store and then launch it by entering your login info You do not need to purchase a subscription to a service you re already using to watch it on a Roku device

Roku is one of the best electronic gadgets we have for entertainment They offer a variety of channels from which to choose and most of them give us at least one free week and some give a free month so we can see if they are a good fit Some of the channels are Amazon Prime Netflix and Hulu All I needed was a TV and a wifi connection to get started streaming video Set up is simple Roku prompted us step by step in the set up In addition to the entertainment channels there are weather channels news channels and shopping channels It can be set up with passwords so that no purchases can be made without authorization or by accident We added an inexpensive switch so that we can easily change over to DVDs or TV if we want to do that One of the best things about Roku though is that we get to watch TV shows and movies without commercials Less distractions and more viewing time available What s not to like

Roku is a winner I have switch to a Roku TV last year and the results have been awesome Im happy that im able to save money on my cable bill and Roku makes it easy to stream TV from various platforms

A great gadget

I have now had 4 Roku boxes and have never had any problems with them I had problems resetting the Disney plus channel to a new login using my Sky box but it just froze I cannot find Disney plus on my smart TV To enable me to get Disney plus I bought another Roku from Amazon and it arrived the next day I just plugged it in and it works just fine and I can now use Disney plus The bonus is the new models can use the power from the smart TV so I don t even have to use another power supply I have never purchased any subscriptions from Roku and do not understand why anyone would it just complicates things and their streaming channels look dreadful However as a gadget its great Subscribe with each individual media channel and use Roku Its much simpler

I see all the bad reviews and I actually had a very good experience I contacted support for my very old Roku which stopped working It could not be fixed but they offered me 30 off any new Roku which I purchased and it works fine

contacted Roku uk through live chat 30th June to say my remote was not working I had my serial number but not the box they told me to send it all back remote streaming stick and plug which I did with the returns number they emailed me and I received a new replacement today 5th July Very impressed with the company the quick service Thanks customer service team at Roku Sue Crane
