We subscribed for our Stourbridge Root

We subscribed for our Stourbridge Root plot back in winter and from day one we have been supported through this new adventure The Team is dynamic always available and lots is already happening as Community events Everything is provided which is unique and amazing eg Tools plants seeds compost The ethos behind the whole project is super respectful of the Earth and the environment The team is creating links through the whole wider Community of people working with the land and the well of knowledge and enthusiasm carries you along Come along and see by yourself this bee hive where all generations are creating beauty

Roots Allotment has been an incredible community to become part of Everyone is friendly and Dave the site manager is always happy to help He goes above and beyond to make sure we all have a positive experience at Roots There are opportunities to go to or even run workshops veg and none veg related I am a beginner when it comes to growing and I feel like this is the perfect place to learn

I love being part of the Roots community There are allotments to suit everyone from small plots for beginners to large ones suitable for families and groups Everything you need is on site and there is always great support and advice available There are also watering and weeding services at a small charge if needed New members are given a good trowel plus free seeds and plug plants There are regular seeds and plug plants given away throughout the year and there are tools water plenty of compost and wood chip on site There are also lots of helpful workshops talks yoga sessions etc Anything you need to know about planting and looking after your plot can be found on the members page of the website I had never grown vegetables before and was slightly anxious about looking after my own plot but am now in my third year and learning from others around I often take a flask and sandwich and spend a part of my day pottering and chatting Such a beautiful place to be Roots is managed and run by a team of friendly knowledgeable people and is a very well run project I highly recommend to anyone

Educational for our daughter great family time

Roots have given myself husband and 5 year old daughter even more of an excuse to get out and do something as a family This experience has been really educational to all of us As complete beginners we had have no idea what we re doing but Will the site Manager is always happy to help and is full of useful information Our plot at Tuckers meadow is perfect - great size close to running water everything we need to hand - the tool shed means we don t have to buy and carry our own tools to the site ample seeds given to us plug plants to help us get off to a hopefully great start and so much more My daughter was over the moon with the free trowel she was given this is what Will gave me so only I can use it we re her words As new members to roots we re yet to go along to any of the many many events they hold but we will soon be enjoying the company of the many friendly other growers at these events Our allotment neighbours are all so friendly with knowledge they re happy to share and even seeds to give away Renting an allotment at roots was the best decision we made if you re reading the reviews please ignore the negativity because as a proud roots member I can guarantee the roots guys have got nature and the environment at the forefront of everything they do I can t wait to see my daughter s face when she sees the seeds she s planted turn into something she will eat - this to us will be priceless

Amazing initiative Couldn t be happier with my patch The service has been wonderful the community spirit the Roots team are creating is truly invaluable Highly recommend

I have a new allotment at Roots Tuckers

I have a new allotment at Roots Tuckers Meadow location and so far it s been a great experience It s a beautiful location easily accessible way to grow edibles and flowers and has such a great community I would really recommend Roots to anyone that s interested in allotmenteering

Sugar Loaf Fields site manager Dave is a star

We live close to Sugar Loaf Fields and have watched this site develop from an empty field to allotments full of fabulous produce over the last few months I admit we did have initial concerns regarding how access and parking might affect us as neighbours but I can honestly say that we ve not had any issues here at all Everyone concerned from management to fellow growers are so friendly Site manager Dave is brilliant He s always on hand with advice and his knowledge is invaluable Following a recent shoulder op I ve been unable to keep on top of the weeding of my plot but Dave has gone above and beyond and done it for me All plot holders have the opportunity to request extra help such as this if it s needed and can book it for a small fee through the members area of the website Thanks Dave you re a star

Roots allotments are brilliant

Ok so we got an allotment plot at Roots in Stourbridge Sugarloaf Lane last autumn Just a bare plot You should see it now It s covered in quality healthy food that WE have grown What a fantastic place The whole concept is brilliant as are all the lovely people we ve met during our ever frequent visits It s become a social hub with all sorts of courses and activities Everything is supplied all the gardening kit tools plants seeds etc The grandkids now have their own subplots on ours and simply can t wait to get there after school Many thanks to the great team involved behind it s creation you ve really started something special here PS special thanks to Dave who runs looks after the place and who can t wait to help He s a veritable mine of information and enthusiasm If you live near Stourbridge or one of the other Roots sites elsewhere and would like something extra and worthwhile in your life then get yourself down there and have a look for yourself

A positive place to be

My little boy and I love our allotment plot Its great value We get regular seed packs and baby plug plants as well as seed potatoes and things to sow Running water always available on site and the workshops and online resources are great for first time growers like us It s such a lovely thing for the little ones to get involved in and we are so grateful to have it There was no way we could get an allotment before Roots opened this site Its a lovely place to be
