if you think it can t be worse you had no business with Runnymede yet
absolutely terrible I moved from Elmbridge council area I thought it can t be any worse Apparently I was wrong You don t expect quality work and fast pace operation from a council but Runnymede borough is next level Extremely slow response time they never know anything Don t try to call them they have no intention to help you If you try to pay your council tax online make sure you have 10 minutes The user experience is like from the late 90 s You log in click on paying your council tax then you login again you give your account number although you would not be able to login without having an account number why would I pay someone else s council tax then you type in the amount you want to pay then account number again then your address and so on

How can it be so wrong
How can it be so wrong If you wrote a list of everything that you feel you should not do to run a Borough Council then I am reasonably sure you will come up with Runnymede s latest business plan From the poorly trained staff to their unworkable systems from their lack of integrity to their apparent lack of care this council are by far the worse Council that I have ever had the displeasure of paying my hard earned money to I telephoned yesterday to simply enquire about how I go about buying an additional recycling bin as ours seems to be overflowing by the time the bi weekly collections come about 4 hours yes four hours it took and I still have not received a confirmations Last weeks marathon stint was in relation to council tax the month before was about a planning matter and please do not even think about suggesting a change to their website as they get really hurt over that one Terrible council in my experience and it is all so unnecessary

Dysfunctional Town Centre parking in Egham
I have had a very bad experience with the Egham Town Centre car park under the Travelodge where you effectively have to pay to stay On top of the accommodation I don t think I know any other Travelodge with paid parking To add to the annoyance the cash or card payment machines DO NOT GIVE RECEIPTS so anyone trying to claim expenses has to log onto the Council parking website Travelodge staff are constantly getting hassled about this it seems The app the Council recommend Mubon does not work in the basement parking as no phone signal nor WiFi The autopay therefore does not work with the ANPR cameras costing me a recent fine despite being registered for my vehicle and payment card Mubon also claim no more fines with Autopay I am now also registered with the council site Fines are 100 reducing to 60 if paid early That was for a 1 hour 13 minute stay I am expecting a second fine for the overnight stay Any fine I pay personally ParkFair operate the site accept there is an issue but wash their hands of both the non-functional App Mubon who as a third party also wash their hands but did forward my mail to the Council I doubt anyone will do anything other than blame each other rather than FIX THE PROBLEM RBC please fit mobile phone repeaters in the car park or allow Travelodge to extend their WiFi to the basement lift lobby for guests This is typical poor wireless connectivity in the UK DECADES behind other countries How can you use a smart phone with no signal or WiFi Update The council did get in touch offered to CANCEL the fine but I had already paid it at the discounted rate No refund on what I had paid was offered as this was to ParkFair not the Council So all in all a very unpleasant and costly experience

6th November garbage pickup
6th November garbage pickup Totally unimpressed by these garbage collectors Because I had a few pieces in my recycling bin they refused to take it I asked why and they said in a very insulting tone YOU HAVE STUFF THERE WE DONT TAKE MATE ALSO WHEN I SAID WHY COULDN T YOU JUST RING MY BELL Was told in another negative tone of voice WE CANT RING ON EVERYONES BELL MATE I took out the few little bits that were not compliant the GARBAGE MAN TOOK MY BIN only to return it back u emptied When I contacted Runnymead refuse collection service and told them the agreed with me that it was Pathetic and Petty I have a disability but was told to take my bin to the nearest waste disposal tip which I can t do They won t return for another w weeks so I ve got to find someone to empty my bin Apparently this happens on a regular basis I say if you don t like your job and are obnoxious GO AND GER ANOTHER JOB This happened at Penton Park on the 6th November unreal and very upsetting Shame on you Runnymead refuse collectors WELL NOT A SURPRISE THAT THEY DIDNT HAVE THE CURTISY OF A REPLY
