Save Energy UK were disorganised chaotic and amateurish

We contracted Save Energy UK in December 2022 to provide a PV and battery solution for our house We finally started power generation in June The solution was operational in August 2023 Our installation was unusual in that we were building a conservatory and wanted the PV panels to go on the roof of the conservatory So we were flexible in the layout of the panels but needed guidance from Save Energy UK on the most appropriate configuration While I have no complaints about the equipment that Save Energy UK provided their implementation services were poor I cannot recommend them to other potential customers When Save Energy UK installed the equipment the installers knew well what they were doing they were thorough and the installation worked first-time The solution has worked well since installation But there were many negatives -Communication to us after we paid our deposit we needed information from Save Energy UK to determine the most appropriate layout for our panels They didn t seem to understand the need to the extent that we kept getting calls from them week after week that they were ready to install Each week Save Energy UK were surprised that we had no roof to install onto since we were waiting on them -Lack of knowledge of installation or products after much escalation they allocated us an individual who would work with us to design the solution He had little knowledge of the products and little knowledge of installation and failed to keep us informed or to progress our build After months of impasse we spoke to Save Energy UK s own suppliers and determined a viable configuration for our requirements As a result of this impasse Save Energy UK delayed the build of our conservatory for several months while we waited for guidance on the panel configuration At one point Save Energy UK offered us a refund on the basis that they were unable to deliver what they had offered I regret not accepting the refund -Didn t get what we contracted for Save Energy UK delivered us a different battery and different PV panels than they had quoted and we were not consulted There was no change control over the deliverables Even days before the installation date Save Energy UK told us the wrong models which affected their size and weight and how they would install them -no drawings describing our planned or actual installation Save Energy UK never provided any information about the configuration of the solution they planned to install They provided an owners manual which contained generic information and generic manufacturer s manuals but nothing describing our specific configuration We have no wiring diagrams for the installation despite lots of bespoke wiring -No information about where or how they would install the battery and inverter until the day of installation Save Energy UK advised they would install the battery and inverter within the conservatory Yet on installation day their installers advised that this was not possible and the battery inverter and associated wiring would need to be outside They proceeded to install the equipment next to our patio While the battery and the inverter are IP65 rated and can be installed outside the wiring looked anything but weatherproof We had to build a shed to contain the equipment - both to protect it and for the aesthetics While this was inevitable Save Energy UK failed to communicate this before installation -Failure to deliver app for months after install despite repeated chases Apps to control and track PV systems are critical to understanding whether the equipment is functioning While Save Energy UK had offered an app as part of their original quotation for months they failed to provide any support on how to install it and make it work Save Energy UK only provided help to configure the app after I withheld final payment The app works fine and is necessary for PV installation users -Still getting invoices after I d paid the final bill Despite the challenges of this installation once Save Energy UK provided the app I settled the final bill in full Yet Save Energy UK s systems kept sending me reminders to pay the bill for months afterwards When I called or emailed them they assured me the bill had been paid but the reminders kept coming In summary this was not a good engagement I have no complaints about the equipment supplied nor the quality of the installation In their engagement with me Save Energy UK were disorganised chaotic and amateurish For a straightforward install onto an existing building project providing nothing went wrong or needed changes I suspect Save Energy UK would be able to do this For me that would be a risk I would not be willing to take again
