Poor Profile Verification and Fake Account Issues
I joined Secret Affairs about five months ago hoping for a discreet dating platform. The initial concept seemed promising, but the execution has been deeply disappointing. Within days of creating my profile, I received dozens of messages from clearly fake accounts with stock photos and generic messages. The platform's verification system is inadequate. Despite uploading a verified photo, I found numerous profiles with obvious fake pictures remained active. The site claims to prioritize authenticity, but this is clearly not enforced. Many matches turn out to be inactive accounts or bots trying to push external links. Subscription charges are aggressive, with automatic renewals that are difficult to cancel. Customer support is slow to respond and unhelpful when addressing concerns about fake profiles. The user interface feels outdated compared to competitors. Safety features are minimal, and there's no real accountability for users posting inappropriate content. While the discretion aspect appealed to me initially, the overwhelming presence of fake accounts makes genuine connections nearly impossible.
