No one at the Birdie company will talk to me

I bought this product for my granddaughter because she was taking a trip out of the country and I thought this would be good and easy enough for her to carry on her crossover bag My daughter and granddaughter worked on it for about an hour they finely got it signed up and working She was suppose to get the first month free After owing it for 30 days my daughter was charged a dollar amount that didn t match up to anything At the same time I was charged for 2 months of the subscription My daughter could not get a hold of anyone so she just canceled what she had at her end I contacted Birdie and they requested all of my receipts I sent all of them and told them I did not set up the app or any of the contact for this Birdie That was 3 weeks ago I have heard nothing back from them Lucky I bought it thru Paypal and explained my situation to them and they reimbursed the 2 auto payments that I did not sign up for and blocked them from my account I don t know where all the good reviews are coming from because I couldn t get anyone to talk to me about this situation I would not recommend this product to anyone

I bought 3 One for myself and the others as gifts Got them all set up The problem is their app continually shuts down So the thing is nothing but a noise maker You go to the website and a chat box pops up you try to start a chat and they tell you to email them Then it shows they are closing in 10 mins How are they closing if it s a 24 hour service There is no customer service phone number to call Ali and Amy Ferber should be ashamed If you were in a bad situation you d be in trouble cause this thing is worthless

Don t waste your money

Don t waste your money I purchased mine last year with a subscription thinking it s a great idea concept for a woman to have a personal alarm Mind you I downloaded the app and connected but realized recently that for an entire year I wasn t connected I thought you will always be connected - no the trick is you re supposed to have the app open at all times and connected to WiFi So I m strutting around the streets doing this and that going here and there with this device and I was disconnected Any who fast forward to October 2024 when my subscription renewed and according to the app my battery was low I sent the customer service an email no phone number and they told me what type of battery to purchase and where and also included a link to a YouTube video to show me how to change the battery I purchased the battery from Amazon and it arrived on Saturday Sunday I opened the email with the video link to YouTube to change the battery - guess what The device in the video doesn t match what I have So I emailed customer service and they said someone would get back to me 25-hours later no on did so I asked for a refund and to cancel my subscription Why have different models of the device and be a one-trick pony - meaning you only have an instructional video for one device even though you sell different devices and no one knows how to change the battery

Birdie features are useless-NOT HAPPY

I bought the Birdie because of the live support and location sharing features I open the app on my phone then make sure the Birdie is connected Then I go about my day biking in the woods I kept sending location notices to my contacts but when I got back home I was told that noone received my notifications When I went to the app it said my birdie was disconnected Additionally this happened everytime I ve left the house I reached out to support which is only through email I get responses in 5-7 days They don t provide any real support just that I need internet service for it to work How is it possible to have internet service in the woods or walking at the park I have cell data service but they said I need internet service at all times Reaching out to them is exhausting and I bought 3 of these things and they are useless Now I have to try and see if I can my money back for the subscriptions I also purchased these devices through the company website rather than Amazon because I was expecting to get better service and support if there were any issues I keep asking to speak with someone live but they don t give me that option The AI autoresponder email is not helpful either It even gives you links to articles that are supposed to help but the links don t work

Easy to Activate But Wasn t Helpful

My mom gave this to me for an international travel Though cute and TSA-approved it is a faulty design I pulled it out of the box while packing for my trip and the tool was activated In shock that it was activated so quickly I had trouble putting the tool back together Beyond giving me a terrible migraine I m even more frustrated that my mom and partner did not hear the birdie sound itself but me yelling for help Absolutely terrible gift

Bait and switch scam beware When I got my devices and one for a friend the ad said there was a deal to get your subscription free for a year I have the receipt for 2 annual subscriptions for the year- cost 0 Imagine my surprise when they charged me for an annual subscription for a year 30 days later Talked to 3 diff reps who said I agreed to the 30 day trial- I have the receipts that say otherwise Oh and guess what they don t do refunds on subscriptions Ironic that a company supposed to be helping women be safe from predators is one itself

Device did not work out of the box Activating the alarm does not work No response when asking for refund or exchange on email or instagram DM When I posted under an instagram post asking for advice they reported my account Cheap rubbish Obviously a scam company

2 Year s Later I discover Birdie won t activate alarm

As numerous others have written I too purchased a Birdie downloaded and app paid a subscription only to find that I could not get the app to stay connected When out and about one does not have constant wifi so this device will not send messages to your contacts and all the other things you think you ll get I paid for a subscription for about 4 months though I tried to cancel right away Also the subscription today says about 5 monthly so i don t know why I paid about double I decided that I d still use it as just a loud alarm and hung it on the strap of my purse The last 2 years I ve walked around sometimes at night overseas alone thinking that at least I have an alarm Guess what I never tested it The pin in mine won t release I just decided to test it as I leave for Europe again tomorrow and I thought I better change the batteries I don t recall ever testing it Imagine my surprise when I yanked and yanked and the pin would not release I m so disappointed by this as I was counting on having an alarm as I travel through countries that don t allow pepper spray
