How to lose you money buying a car online
All the information contained here is alleged and not fact I had taken down the following reviews because they threatened to take away the livelihoods of the people involved This was never my intention and still isn t But we were sold a car that was defective had engine lights on and was window-dressed to look newer mileage was probably tampered with as well In total we spent about 8 700 USD to get the car to my country tax included Five months on the car is not working and PRESTIGE AUTOS Singapore Autos isn t willing to take back the car or reimburse us our money My mother used a big portion of her pension money to purchase this defective car when she could have used the money as a deposit to buy a brand-new car from a dealership My elderly mother has had to use public transport only five months after we bought the car it had gearbox problems I spoke to Adam and even got multiple quotations which I took a whole month gathering only for them to disregard them and instead offer an insulting amount of 1 200 USD which wouldn t even cover a second-hand gearbox The fact that the owner won t even address us directly is very telling of the type of company they are running and the level of morality and accountability enforced To Adam s credit I was sympathetic after realizing that he had been going through a lot in his personal life which is why he snapped at me and even threatened my life What I did not divulge is that at the time I had recently lost my father he died in my arms and I had to try and resuscitate him which was very traumatic But I did not use this as an excuse to be rude to him or anyone for that matter We all go through unexpected pain but that does not justify treating others rudely or making threats to kill it s unacceptable I should have known only bad things were to come when I purchased a car from PRESTIGE AUTOS Singapore Autos They aren t on Google Maps for you to leave reviews I think they must have disabled all places including Facebook where people can give honest reviews After buying the car from BE FORWARD I found out that it was listed by a third-party seller PRESTIGE AUTOS on the BE FORWARD website I simply wanted to confirm some details about the car and was instead threatened by an employee called Adam He could have politely told me that because I bought the car via BE FORWARD and not directly from them it was considered some kind of a breach which is totally okay and something a first-time buyer like me should have been informed about with more respect I was bringing them business nonetheless Instead Adam got very angry told me to eff off and said he would kill me That s when I decided he had gone too far so I lodged a complaint with both BE FORWARD and PRESTIGE AUTOS They said he would be dealt with and that was the last I heard about the issue Very unprofessional Anyway the car came with multiple issues including a missing spare key many engine lights on and overheating I spent weeks gathering evidence 4GB worth I also filled in their claims form They take forever to respond and basically told me all the problems were my fault and that there was nothing I could do about it Something became very obvious to me the cars sold by PRESTIGE AUTOS are window-dressed to look better than they actually are in person The videos and pictures provided by PRESTIGE AUTOS on the BE FORWARD website are usually taken in a very bright room which does wonders to conceal things like previous paint jobs or general inconsistencies in paintwork For example the car I bought had a whole panel that was a different shade from the rest of the car and the paint on the car was bubbling The car needed water every few kilometers and stopped moving completely after about 5 000 km of me having it The gear selector seemed to have gone through significant trauma most likely from an accident None of this was mentioned and the car was made to look good Things like the keys are brand new on a car that s supposedly a 2015 model the engine oil cover is new as well and some other components are new while others harder to replace tell a more accurate story of the car s true age The mileages also seem too good to be true For example the car that I bought had 49 000 kilometers on the clock and is a 2015 model A nine-year-old car with mileage that low is highly unlikely The car is now in the garage with a hefty repair bill ahead This company thrives on deception refurbishing accident-damaged vehicles masking serious mechanical issues and possibly tampering with mileage to lure unsuspecting buyers Their online listings look pristine but the reality is far from it I can only hope they are held accountable soon
