Picked a car up at Klagenfurt airport on 3rd Feb for 7 days A week after returning car to Klagenfurt airport I receive a new invoice 20 Euros dearer than the initial invoice This new invoice included a payment for picking up and dropping off at different places I did complain and they have agreed to refund it We travelled with some friends who also hired a car with them at same time They were also sent an invoice with a 20 Euros charge Sixt also claim that their car had a 3cm scratch on the rear door but when challenged have been unable to produce an image to show it Looks like a regular scam going on

DO NOT RENT VIA SIXT VIENNA

We have used Sixt in several locations Jordan Portugal Munich and no complaints However we rented a car in Vienna in Feb 2024 and got scammed when we handed it back in a week later The exact same way as they scammed us a few years back You hand in the car they check the car you sign on their handheld device which shows a white screen Next day you receive an email indicating there is damage to the car and they charge you a few hundred euros Damage that has never been indicated Needless to say we won t use them anymore in Austria And this leaves such bad taste that we now rent cars from other companies wherever we go so they lost a platinum member using these practices Reading all the previous reviews specifically about Austria this seems to be their business model

Outrageous scam for more than 400 euro

Outrageous scammers Do not rent with them We received a bill double the price due to - Refuelling - 97 euro We had actually refueled the car so they refunded that bit Small victory compared to the second scam But well they tried which says a lot - One-way return tax They say we got the car back to Munich Airport instead of Salzburg Airport The thing is we provided them with our plane tickets from Salzburg The best part is that their team said that their system indicates that the car was returned in Munich on Monday 25th of March Well we gave the car back on Saturday 23rd of March and left the country as per our flight tickets Despite this evidence they insist on making us pay a wooping 310 euro even if we obviously didn t do anything wrong It has been back and forth with them for a month now and they took the money out of our account anyway Disgusting behaviour When I read others review I understand that this is a systemic problem in this company My husband is platinum customer with his work but I can assure I will never rent with them ever again nowhere in the world

Avoid this scam rental company in Austria especially at Graz airport The are total cheaters they do everything to rip you off My experience was terrible nobody was there midweek to show the car at pick up or drop off They accused me of a damage that was already on the car and documented in the agreement for which they invoiced me over 1000 for 5 cm scratch They could not provide a proof the close up photo of the scratch can be of any car AVOID Sixt Austria even if they offer you a free rental They will find a way to cheat on you in other ways I wish I had read the reviews before renting from them

Extortion Scam

Absolutely criminal activity at the Vienna branches of Sixt I had interactions with Am Hauptbahnhof and Im Hilton branches Both conspired to charge me over a thousand euros of damage on a car I had for barely 40 minutes with no impact of any kind during that time I thought Sixt would behave themselves closer to home but they are more insidious than ever I should ve heeded these reviews but now I m paying the price You have been warned

Delays - Waiting lines - faulty system - rude staff

Booked a car with Sixt at 11 00 Took me 30 min to even find their office since there is no signs Waited two hours before it was my turn in the line The woman was acting very nice all went fine I took out my credit card and pressed it against their machine but then the staff interrupted the payment process for some reason This seems to have blocked or flagged my card in their system The woman began the narrative that there is something wrong with the credit card I know there is nothing wrong with my credit card I called my bank they confirmed I also put them on speaker and they told the staff my card is fine The staff kept repeating that my card is faulty and continued lying because they knew their system is wrong I asked them to reset their system or call their IT guys They laughed in my face and told me to go to another company because my card is faulty They lied and lied and lied I asked them to confirm they do not want my working credit card and it is their system that is not working and they denied I said I do not understand why a working card isn t accepted I got no explanation They knew they were wrong and tried to get rid of me In the end they said they will block me in their system and I can t ever book their cars again They re lying deceiving scam company Do not book their cars They wasted my entire day that I wanted to spend in Vienna - without an apology or reimbursement or a replacement or anything that would make up for the experience Extreme disappointment

Like many of the reviews here - an incredibly disappointing experience Hired in Vienna city and returned it to Vienna Airport Received an email afterwards saying there was a 5-10cm scratch on one of the tyre alloys Never happened while we were driving it The photos they sent didn t show anything Asked for a decent photo of the damage with a ruler in view to show the supposed 5-10cm scratch and nothing - just a bill for 1350 euros Obviously a scam Will never use Sixt again
