They are falsely advertising courses
They are falsely advertising courses which are not actually courses e g The Late Bloomer course is literally just a copy of the audiobook with a video clip of Clarissa being interviewed You re paying double the price for an audiobook in order to watch a short video clip you can probably get free online The Science of Medical Intuition course is archive footage from old talks that Caroline Myss did some of which is from the late 80s and much of which is out of date even by her teaching practices There is also audio recordings dating back to the 80s and 90s A lot of this footage is available for free on youtube It is not even remotely a course Just a collection of videos that have been put together in a chaotic way - though you can see they ve tried to make one connect to the other sometimes though they rarely succeed at this I bought 7 courses and got a refund on all of them but one they were very speedy on the refund Alas when I bought the Caroline Myss course the most expensive one I was not aware of the refund policy so lost my money on it Which is even more galling as they now offer it for a third of the price I will never use this company again Their website is a cash-cow to make money from archive footage and as far as I can see from all the courses I bought there isn t a single actual course If you want proper courses go to somewhere like MindValley or Masterclass where thought and dedication have gone into their online learning platforms and their course content

Cancelled attendance at retreat ST refused to refund even part of our almost 5000AUD payment
Sounds True recently ran a retreat with Eckhart Tolle and Kim Eng in Greece My husband and I desperately wanted to attend but had work commitments in Australia A short time before the event was to begin ST extended the cut-off time to purchase tickets Before this there had been a date given where you could cancel your ticket purchase and get a refund When they extended the time to purchase they did not nominate a new date on which you could get a refund When we saw that tickets were still available we decided to purchase two but we did not notice there was no extended time to get a refund - we naturally assumed that date would also be extended Within 24 hours of purchasing the tickets we realised we still could not attend despite our best efforts so we immediately advised ST we needed to cancel and requested a refund This happened within 24 hours of making the purchase ST sent an email saying the original refund time had expired 6 weeks before and we could not regain ANY of the nearly 5000 AUD we had spent This is not an insubstantial sum for us Despite my husband sending a long email explaining our circumstances the answer was No to any refund We had paid through AMEX and when we checked our account we saw that ST had not as yet processed our payment so we contacted their investigation department immediately and explained that ST had extended the time to purchase tickets but not a time to change your mind This event was advertised as will sell out so we knew they would have no trouble re-selling our tickets We have followed Eckhart Tolle since 2013 and attended more than 6 of his retreats held in the USA and Australia We would like to believe that ST is an organisation of integrity especially as their founder and front-person Tami Simon advertises herself as promoting conscious business practices Our experience of ST this time and in various incidents in the past has strongly undermined that claim as we do not believe they act with concern for their customers However the good news is American Express held our money in trust while they investigated After several weeks they repaid all our money into our account We are eternally gratefulThanks to Amex for their great customer service To anyone considering doing business with Sounds True - caveat emptor - buyer beware

Worst dysfunctional app only way to access
The only way to listen to audio purchases is through a totally dysfunctional app I was a long time customer going back to cassette days with an extensive audio library of purchases now they re almost impossible to listen to I used to be able to download my purchases Now there is no way to listen to them except through this miserable excuse for an app Maybe it works on a new iPhone useless on my Samsung A7 tablet Half the time when i open the app and touch the screen nothing happens Sometimes 10 seconds later it responds It is incredible to me that a company that is marketing audios is forcing people to listen to them on such an absolutely useless piece of crap like the sounds true app They were great to deal with for many years I was broke a lot of the time but when i had some extra money i would buy meditation audios Now it seems they ve moved on to marketing expensive courses to people with money and can t be bothered to provide a functional way to access humble things like audio purchases at least not for those without the latest iPhone I used to think of ST as a company with heart and integrity Now i think of it as one more big company where management doesn t care because they ve known they ve had this problem since the app was introduced There is no way I would get anything from them again I just want to be able to access my previous purchases in a functional way

Is this even legal
Sounds True is on my mind and I wanted to warn others I signed up for a class that had nothing to do with their membership to Sounds True One In addition to the class they gave me a one month free membership to One which I didn t ask for and never used On Friday I received an email from Sounds True telling me they were going to charge me for the next month s membership which I did not authorize but gave me instructions for how to cancel I followed the instructions exactly and there was nowhere on the screen to cancel I sent an email to their customer service and received a response that they would cancel my membership and refund me even though they hadn t yet charged me She also asked me if I was using a Mac computer On Monday I was charged 19 99 on the same account I used to pay for the class I emailed back the same customer service person today and did not receive a response I ve always really liked Sounds True but this feels like a scam to me I m sure I ll get this worked out but I just wanted to warn people if you purchase anything from Sounds True be careful

The new format is impossible to navigate To me feels like a money grab from a supposed Enlightened company I signed up and bought in to their new One format and all of my old courses are now unavailable I bought a e-gift card for a friend they can t use it unless they sign up for a Soundstrue One membership I guess just take my money with no return

If I could give zero stars I would This company is a ripoff I ordered one class in January and was charged 15 60 I did NOT purchase a membership On 03-01-24 my checking account was charged 21 66 and can find no record what this was for I repeatedly try to ask the chat box was this was for and got nothing but a list of unhelpful articles to read When I call the 800-333-9185 number and selected customer service the message came back saying that there was no one to help me

I ve been a ST fan since cassette days Their totally dysfunctional app makes it beyond difficult to access my extensive library of purchases especially since I live offline and need to go to wifi to download

Initially things seemed to be okay
Initially things seemed to be okay Eventually I couldn t access the course that I purchased and was advertised that I could complete at my own pace No one ever seems available from customer service and the problem they said would be fixed has yet to be fixed Months have gone by

Fake courses
They are offering courses with Thich Nhat Hanh however the latter had a stroke in 2014 since which time he has no longer had the power of speech and is being cared for at his root temple in Vietnam He is certainly not capable of running courses - any material will be old and rehashed
