Corner of days of Danescroft drive Eastwood road north last Friday I came across a pink recycle bag which was opened and as it was a very windy day disposable gloves and face mask scattered around the place Phone Southend council regarding this issue as there is the coronavirus going around It could be contaminated it wasn t just a pair of gloves but many pairs and colours as well as at least half a dozen face masks Emma from Southend council refuge department didn t ask where abouts it is she just asked have you got a computer My reply was I think with this issue it should be picked up asap she said it won t be done today After this conversation I couldn t believe it well I could it is Southend council Every time I pout the radio or TV on that s all you hear is about this deadly virus keep indoors stay 2 MTRS away from people wash your hands ect and next minute I come across this Southend council do you not care about people s health and safety

Nobody cares
How disappointing Rang Southend council after contacting the Essex water about a leaking outside public tap by Shoebury common beach huts was shouted down by the women in environmental dept that they wont sort it out as it not their problem even though the huts come under the council for repairs they have to wait to get hold of who owns the hut Considering we have one of the driest areas in Essex are always being told to save water report leaks when we see them seems Southend Council couldn t care less

Website and online council-tax management is a mess
Their website and online council-tax management system is a complete ancient mess They urgently and definitely need to replace their IT team On the phone line you can spend an hour waiting which is when you can then get forwarded to a different depeartment and wait anew The representatives once reached are however very professional and kind and provide an outstanding service

ordering copies of certificates
I placed an online order for a copy of a relatives death certificate 20 07 23 and duly paid in good faith the 35 Priority service fee Expecting this would arrive the next day I rang when it failed to arrive only to be told I had made a mistake in that I had said I would collect in person So I was then advised it was being sent out to me as I said collection was never an option 225 miles is quite a hike to collect I waited another few days still no certificate so I rang again to be told that it had been sent but it was SECOND CLASS Royal Mail so it should be with you any day now Seven days later Still no certificate so another phone call later it was explained that I should take the matter up with Royal Mail but with no tracking details this plan was futile The customer service rep became angry and raised her voice to me when I tried to point out the mistake of sending out a legal document with no tracking is wrong I was offered no refund and was told the certificate would cost me another 35 to be sent again -unrecorded second class Having spoken to my local register office the policy there is that if a certificate fails to arrive a further certificate is then posted out to the cost of 11 post free Terrible experience customer service from Southend -on Sea register office

Useless council
I sent all my documents in for Southend council regarding housing but they did not bother to contact me again I repeatedly handed my bank statements etc The are useless lazy and discrimatory in every way and did not care for my housing needs I would give them less than 1 star if i could

Forced to pay a parking ticket that was not deserved
You have just forced me to pay a parking ticket that I did not deserve to pay Is that how you treat visitors with valid reason as to why they didn t deserve the parking ticket Even providing the valid reason in writing I was still forced to pay it DISGUSTING TREATMENT

How on earth anyone can navigate
How on earth anyone can navigate Southend Council s new in July 2024 website is beyond me The old one certainly had its quirks but the new one is a major step backwards For instance if you go to the login screen input your details and press enter you are then presented with a screen that asks you whether you want to login or register And you thought you d just logged in The whole website is a confused mess that sends you round in circles Whoever designed it approved it and signed it off collectively need their heads examining

One star is 100 per cent to good for this website School children could do better why does the website make it impossible to navigate Please look at the water and gas electric companies websites and make it simpler to view for example my council tax account For years Southend council website has been awful to navigate and change the website almost yearly Really THE Worst ever website
